Race 1 

Trainer Fabian Habib holds a strong hand in this contest and he can saddle the first two past the post. DYLAN’S CHAMP has good consistent form lines to his credit. The 14-week break may have done him the world of good. He gets the services of Tshepiso Matsoele who may be able to get the best out of him where it matters most.

HIGHVELD STORM was caught by Oklahoma Twister over 1200m on the Classic course last time. If not in need of the run, he may be the one to fill the exacta spot.

NEW LIFE was in need of his debut effort over 1200m on this course. The son of New Predator would have gained from the experience and should make the natural improvement.

Race 2

BRIGHT AND BRAZEN raced in the Listed Wilgerbosdrift Ruffian Stakes last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. The daughter of Erupt has scope and in this field, it would be no surprise to see her in the winner’s enclosure.

BILINGUAL is better than her last start as she was reported to be coughing. If finding the form of her penultimate run, she should be involved at the finish.

PANTHERA UNCIA has inconsistent form lines to her name. She finished 0.1 lengths behind the second selection in her penultimate run. The pair meet on the same weight terms and there should not be much separating them at the finish.

Race 3

SYLVAN WARRIOR showed very good improvement when second over this C&D last time. He was running on well at the finish that day. The son of Querari gets the services of capable work rider Phelisile Mongqawa. If repeating that effort, he should be the one to beat.

ICONIC WINTER produced a promising debut effort over 1160m at Turffontein. She returns from a lengthy 46-week break. If not in need of the run, she should be involved in the fight to the finish. JET

QUERARI is better than his last start as he was reported to be not striding out. He returns from a 19-week break, during which time he was gelded. The son of Querari may be hard to peg back.

Race 4

ON A JET PLANE challenged strongly over 1700m last time, but found one too good in the form of Cape Saffron. The daughter of Bezrin is in a good space and with Anathi Feni in the saddle, she may be the one to side with. She is carded to race on 27 April 2025 and her progress in that race will need to be monitored.

LAVA LAMP finished 1.05 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result.

LADY NOIR ran a fair race over 1700m last time. She gets the blinkers fitted for the first time which should keep her mind on the task at hand. Samuel Mosia rides and she can feature.

 

 

Race 5

MYSTIC VISION showed very good improvement in his last start over 1400m on this course. He cost himself winning that day as he ducked outwards at the 300m mark. If confirming his recent improvement, he can go one better in this line-up.

TWO FOR THE BOYS showed very good improvement when third over 1400m last time. He received a bump at the 300m mark and stayed on to finish third. The son of Master Of My Fate is coming along the right way and he is a threat.

ROYAL MIRACLE raced from a handy position over this distance last time, but found one too good in the form of War Reporter. Phelisile Mongqawa is booked to ride and the combination cannot be ignored.

Race 6

JINGER JAM should have finished closer to the winner last time as she hung inwards in the final 400m. The daughter of Duke Of Marmalade should love the rise to 2000m. She jumps from pole position with Phelisile Mongqawa booked to ride. She has scope and would not be a shock winner.

LUNAR RAINBOW ran a good race when second over 1800m at Turffontein last time. She finished third in her only attempt on this course. The daughter of Rabada is one of the leading contenders.

ARTIC SILVER has finished fourth in her last three starts. She finished 0.7 lengths behind the second choice in her penultimate run. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them at the finish.

Race 7

HEROIC ACT ran a good race when second over this distance on the Classic course last time. He was slow into stride, but finished off his race well. He would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. Tshepiso Matsoele is booked to ride and he can shed his maiden tag.

BRIGHAM ran a good race when second with the blinkers last time. He stayed on at the finish but found one too good in the form of Stop The Traffic. Samuel Mosia rides and he is one of the leading contenders.

GIFT OF ROYAL stayed on when third over 1800m on this course last time. He finished 2.6 lengths behind the top choice in his penultimate run. He is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating them at the finish.

Race 8

SASHA LEE stayed on when fourth over 1200m on this course last time. The blinkers seem to have done the trick on the daughter of Vercingetorix. She will enjoy the rise to 1300m and may be the one to side with.

SAUDI SWEEP stayed on when second over 1400m at Turffontein last time. She is having her peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. The daughter of Pomodoro will be mowing down the frontrunners.

LIKE A PRAYER has been disappointing in recent form. The daughter of Danon Platina should be ideally suited to this distance. She has run a good race under Phelisile Mongqawa and would not be a shock winner on best form shown
