CAPTAIN CASEY ran a fair race in his last start over 1400m on this course. The manner in which he finished off his race that day suggests that he will love the rise to 1700m. His last placed effort came under Gavin Lerena. Despite his big mass of 61kgs, he should be the one to beat.
SPELLING BEE was running on when second over 1400m on the turf last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

GREEN VALKYRIE should have finished closer to the winner last time as she hung inwards in the final 250m. If keeping on a straight line, she should be involved in the fight to the finish.

IRISH LUCK raced from a handy position over this C&D last time and stayed on at the finish. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He takes a slight drop in class and from his good draw of three, he can go one better.
