Race 1

APEX PREDATOR should give punters a good start to the day. He showed good speed over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time, fought hard but found one too good in the form of Immah. The son of New Predator is having his peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. From his good draw of three, he should be hard to peg back.

CAPPELLINO finished 3 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.

BANDMASTER returns from a 33-week break, during which time he was gelded. He may need the run but it is encouraging that Muzi Yeni is booked to ride. There should be improvement to come from the son of Admiral Kitten.

Race 2

ISIKWISHIKWISHI has run two fair races to date. He stayed on when third over this C&D last time. It must be noted that Deception Pass has come out and won again since. The son of Alado is a progressive type and from his good draw of three, he may be the one to side with.

SOVEREIGN COMMAND was green in running over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time, but stayed on to finish third. He would have come on from the run and should love the rise to 1400m. With a bit of luck from the widest draw, he should throw out the biggest challenge to the top choice.

AMOR FATI is better than his last start as he was squeezed when leaving the starting stalls. His best career effort has come on this course and if finding the form of that run, he should be involved at the finish.

Race 3

DYNASTY’S LAST finished 1.05 lengths behind PERFECTLY PICKED last time. She is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. She is likely to be settled near the rear of the field from the widest draw and will be mowing down the frontrunners.

PERFECTLY PICKED has improved in her last four starts. She should enjoy the step up to 1900m and should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.

WALKIE TALKIE showed good progress in her last start over 2300m on the turf. She raced from a handy position before getting outrun late. The blinkers seem to have done the trick and she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 4

CANFORD QUEEN should have finished closer to the winner over 1800m last time. She won a game race in her penultimate effort over this C&D. If finding the form of that outing, she should notch up her third-career victory.

ENGLISH PRIMROSE finished 0.5 lengths behind DOCTOR’S ORDERS last time. She is 1kg better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair in the run down to the line.

DOCTOR’S ORDERS won a good race in her last start over this C&D. She raced from a handy position, moved up and kept finding all the way to the line. She is in a good space and can follow up with another victory.

Race 5

BLUSH OF DAWN set the pace over 1600m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time and stayed on to finish fourth. Four of her six career victories have come over this C&D. She will strip a much fitter horse and may be hard to catch from barrier three.

SWEET JULIA ran a good race when second over 1000m on this course last time. Her record over this distance is a slight concern, but she is in a good space and merits healthy respect.

RAFEEF’S CHOICE ran a good race over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. She is carded to race on 8 September 2024 and her progress in that race will need to be monitored.

Race 6

WARRIOR OF ROYALTY is better than his last start on the turf as the jockey reported something to be amiss in running. He has been gelded since that outing which may have done the trick. He finished second in his only attempt over this distance. The son of Pathfork takes on weaker opposition today and on best form shown, he can win.

ONE TOO MANY is a winner of his last two starts, the latest of which was over 1000m on the turf. Four of his six career victories have come on this course. He is in a good space and can bring up the hat-trick.

ULTRA QUICK stayed on when fourth over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. He would have come on from the run. Rachel Venniker takes the 1.5kgs off his back and he should be competitive.

Race 7

MISS PLATINA was super-impressive when winning her last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. The manner in which she quickened away from the field that day was eye-catching. She has won on the polytrack previously. S’manga Khumalo retains the ride and from her good draw of four, she should be the one to beat.

GRANDI ORECCHIE is better than her last start in the Listed Off To Stud Stakes. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. She is unbeaten from three starts on this course and will be looking to keep that record intact.

PETIT VERDOT was outrun late over 2000m on the turf last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. She carries a handy galloping mass of 54.5kgs and must be included in all bets.

Race 8

WAVE WARRIOR has fair recent form lines to his credit. He raced from a handy position over this C&D last time, but found one too good in the form of Shoefella. He has won twice, finished second twice and third four times from 12 starts over this C&D. Rachel Venniker takes the 1.5kgs off his back which should assist his cause. If getting his own way in front, he can return to winning ways.

FUTURE OF ENERGY finished 1.75 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 0.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result.

KING BAVARIAN was running on when second over 2000m on the turf last time. He is at his best over further but with Athandiwe Mgudlwa in the saddle, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest
