Race 1

BACK AT THE GEORGE ran a good race when second in her comeback run over this C&D. She showed good speed before getting outrun late by Beware The Bomb. The daughter of What A Winter would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. Craig Zackey is likely to adopt the same tactics from her wide draw and she may be hard to peg back.

MIRACULOUS should have finished closer to the winner on debut as she was held up for a run at the 100m mark and had to be switched. The daughter of Rafeef would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, she should be competitive.

GOODNESSGRACIOUSME ran a fair race on debut over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. She returns from a 17-week break, during which time she would have strengthened up. It is encouraging that Richard Fourie is booked to ride and she should make the natural improvement.

Race 2

AFRIQUE is the best bet on the programme. He produced a promising debut effort over this C&D, five weeks ago. He raced from just off the pace and stayed on nicely at the finish. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. The son of Querari would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, he should take a power of beating.

ARISTOTLE returns from a 22-week break, during which time he was gelded. The son of Rafeef has decent form lines to his credit and if fit, he may be the one to fill the exacta spot.

ELUSIVE BLACK ran a decent race on debut over this C&D. The son of Elusive Fort would have gained from the experience and he should make the natural improvement.

Race 3

ENGLEFIELD GREEN made the expected natural improvement when third over this C&D last time. The form of that race is well represented in Race 1 today and it should be a good guide. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight is a progressive type and she may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.

PINK PIGEON produced a decent debut effort over 1000m on this course. It must be noted that Be Merry has come out and won again since. The daughter of Querari would have gained from the experience and she should love the rise to 1250m.

OCTOBER FEST stayed on when third over this C&D last time. The well- related daughter of Master Of My Fate is coming along the right way and from her good draw of four, she can fight out the finish.

Race 4

GOLDEN DESTINY raced wide around the turn in his comeback run over 1400m and understandably lacked a finish. The son of Rafeef may be better suited to this distance at this stage of his career. He will strip a much fitter horse today and in this line-up, he should be the one to beat.

UNSUNG HERO ran a good race when second over this C&D last time. He stayed on at the finish but found one too good in the form of Twentytwentyvision who has come out and won again since. He is having his peak run and should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

FIRINGONALLENGINES showed improvement when third over this C&D last time. He is having his peak run today and will be cherry-ripe. The son of William Longsword is likely to race on the speed from his good draw of two and he may be hard to peg back.

Race 5

KAMCHATKA showed some improvement in her last start over 1250m on this course. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. The daughter of Erupt is bred to love the rise to the mile. If Corne Orffer is able to switch her off early, she should win a race of this nature.

WEDDING BELLS ran on from last when fourth over 1400m on this course last time. The blinkers seem to have done the trick on the daughter of Master Of My Fate. She has cracked a good draw of two and should be closer turning for home.

LUCKY THIRTEEN took on male company over 1800m last time. Her penultimate run when fifth was fair. If putting her best foot forward in this type of field, she would not be a shock winner.

Race 6

This is a competitive Class 3 field and caution is advised. The tentative first selection is INFRARED from the Brett Crawford stable. He finished 2.5 lengths behind PAS DE NOM last time. He is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish. The son of Twice Over is having his peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. On best form shown, he should find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

FIBONACCI was running on when 0.75 lengths behind PAS DE NOM last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today which is enough for the tables to be turned. Sean Veale retains the ride and the pair merit healthy respect.

PAS DE NOM is better than his last start in the Listed Settlers Trophy. He is unbeaten from two starts over this C&D and will be looking to keep that record intact.

Race 7

GOLDEN GREY finished 0.4 lengths behind OZARK last time. He is 3kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He will strip a much fitter horse and can go one better.

OZARK was held up for a run at the 200m mark last time but got up where it matters most. He received a three-pound penalty for that victory. Richard Fourie does duty and he is one of the leading contenders.

NAUSHON finished 2.25 lengths behind the second selection in the race referred to above. He is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish. He won his penultimate outing over this C&D and cannot be ignored.

Race 8

SAIL THE SEAS was not beaten far in his comeback run over this C&D. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. He will strip much fitter and jumps from a good draw of three. Richard Fourie is booked to ride and the combination should find themselves in the winner’s enclosure.

MONT LOISIR is better than his last start suggests. His form prior to that outing was consistent. He has cracked a good draw of four and is one of the leading contenders.

CARRIACOU ran on strongly when third over this C&D last time. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. He should strip much fitter and if getting away to a clean start, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 9

WYLIE JACK has good recent form lines to his credit. He was running on when third over this C&D last time. He won his penultimate start over this C&D, in this Class. Despite his big weight of 61.5kgs, he may be the one to side with.

GRAVITY finished 2.25 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 2kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result. With a bit of luck from the widest draw, he should be competitive.

NILE THE BOSS showed good speed over 1250m last time before getting outrun late. She finished third in her only attempt over this C&D. She is in a good space and must be included in all bets.

Race 10

THE MASK is better than his last start in the Listed Hollywoodbets Sharks Gatecrasher Stakes. He returns from a 17-week break, during which time he would have strengthened up. The son of Gimmethegreenlight looks to have ability and from his good draw of four, he should give his older rivals a run for their money.

BLUFF ON BLUFF finished 0.05 lengths behind SHIFTING PATH last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. Richard Fourie is booked to ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.

SHIFTING PATH has top consistent form lines to his credit. Despite excuses in the straight last time, he got up where it matters most. Luyolo Mxothwa knows him well and he should be competitive
