ALTA CAPITANA raced from a handy position in the Non-Black Type Highveld Winter Juvenile Fillies Stakes last time and tried hard all the way to the line. She finished 0.3 lengths behind PRINCESS KEIRA that day. She is 2kgs better off at the weights today which is enough for the tables to be turned. The daughter of Captain Of All has plenty of scope and she may be the one to side with. 

PRINCESS KEIRA caused an upset when winning the Non-Black Type Highveld Winter Juvenile Fillies Stakes. If confirming her recent improvement, she should pose a massive threat. 

LET‘S GO LOLA made the expected natural improvement when winning her last start over 1100m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. She is the stable elect with Philasande Mxoli retaining the ride. The daughter of Hat Puntano is a progressive type and she may be the one to side with. 

Race 2

JAN VAN GOYEN finished 0.9 lengths behind SHADOWFAX last time. He is 3kgs better off at the weights today which is enough for the tables to be turned. The son of Master Of My Fate steps up to 1400m for the first time. If seeing out the extra distance on offer, he can return to winning ways. 

SHADOWFAX ran on powerfully when winning his last start over 1160m. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The son of One World is a progressive type and will love the rise to 1400m. He should be involved in the fight to the finish. 

NYAKA NYAKA finished 3.3 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 3kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.

Race 3

SON OF RAJ ran a fair race when seventh in the Grade 3 4Racing Jubilee Stakes last time. He would have come on from the run and will strip much fitter. He is the class horse in this contest and with Gavin Lerena back in the saddle, he can go close. 

FIRE ‘N FLAMES is better than his last start in the Grade 1 Hollywoodbets Gold Challenge. His penultimate run when second over 1400m on this course was encouraging. He carries a handy galloping mass of 54kgs and may be the horse to complete the exacta. 

GIMMEANOTHERCHANCE‘S last two starts have been fair. The manner in which he finished off those two starts suggests that he will enjoy the rise to 1600m at this stage of his career. He carries a handy galloping mass of 52kgs and can show. 

Race 4

HEMISPHERE stayed on when second over this C&D last time. He should have finished closer to the winner that day as he hung inwards in the final 200m. Gavin Lerena steps back into the saddle and the combination may find themselves in the winner’s enclosure. 

CONSTELLATION won his maiden over this distance at the Vaal, easier than the official margin suggests. The son of What A Winter takes on stronger, but he has plenty of scope and should be up to the task at hand. 

IT‘S PERSONAL‘S last two starts have been fair. He has won once and finished third once from four starts over this distance. The cheekpieces have been fitted which may do the trick. 

 

 

Race 5

WHISTLE THE TUNE finished 1.1 lengths behind CHASING HAPPINESS last time. She is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. She gets the cheekpieces fitted for the first time which may do the trick. The daughter of Captain Of All can return to winning ways. 

CHASING HAPPINESS ran a cracker when fourth in the Grade 1 SA Fillies Sprint last time. She has won twice, finished second once and third once from seven starts on this course. She is in a good space and merits healthy respect. 

QUANTUM THEORY has finished second in his last three starts. He found one too good in the form of Buffalo Storm Cody last time. Serino Moodley may be able to get the best out of him where it matters most.

Race 6

FUTUREWOLFF has decent recent form lines to his credit. He stayed on when fourth over this distance at the Vaal last time. Gavin Lerena is booked to ride, and, in this field, he can notch up his fifth-career victory. 

WAR REPORTER stayed on when fourth over 2000m on this course last time. The son of Vercingetorix is slowly starting to return to best form and he is one of the leading contenders. 

FLAG BEARER was a beaten favourite over 2400m at the Vaal last time. He won his only attempt over this C&D. 4kgs claiming apprentice Girish Samo-Burthia steps back into the saddle and on previous form, he can show. 

Race 7

FIRE ATTACK showed good guts and determination when winning the Grade 1 HKJC World Pool Premier’s Champions Challenge last time. The son of Fire Away returns from a 14-week break. He finished second in his only attempt over this C&D. He has plenty of class and if not in need of the run, he should be the one to beat. 

MUSICAL SCORE lacked extra late when sixth in the Grade 3 4Racing Jubilee Stakes last time. He won his previous two starts well. The son of Oratorio has ability and is one of the leading contenders. 

CHOISAANADA won the first two legs of the Highveld Winter Series. He fought hard when getting the better of Confederate in the Non-Black Type 4Racing Egoli Mile. The son of Querari is in a good space and can bring up the hat-trick.

Race 8

RED AMBER stayed on at the finish when fourth in the Non-Black Type Highveld Winter Juvenile Stakes last time. She is a 2yo filly taking on older horses, but she receives her weight allowance. Gavin Lerena rides from a good draw of four and she should give the males a run for their money. 

ALABAMA ANNA ran a decent race when third over 1200m at the Vaal last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. With a bit of luck from the widest draw, she should go close. 

GUERILLA WARFARE‘S last two starts have been decent. He has won once, finished second twice and third once from seven starts on this course. Raymond Danielson rides and he may be able to get the best out of him where it matters most
