Race 1
PARIS FUN showed good improvement when third over this distance at Turffontein last time. She was slow into stride and stayed on at the finish. The daughter of Futura gets the services of capable work rider Phelisile Mongqawa. She will strip much fitter and may have more to come.
BELLA BOOP BOOP ran a fair race over 1450m on the Turffontein Inside course last time. She stayed on nicely at the finish that day. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.
CYBER SPIRIT ran a fair race in her comeback run over 1000m at Turffontein. She would have come on from the run and if seeing out the 1400m, she can earn another cheque for her patrons.
Race 2
FOLLOW THE MASTER set the pace over 2000m at Turffontein last time, before getting caught late by Enflame. The son of Master Of My Fate meets the right field and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, he should be hard to peg back.
HEROIC ACT finished 5 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 3.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result. The son of Captain Of All may be the horse to fill the exacta spot.
ALAKANANI finished 9 lengths behind the top choice in the race referred to above. He carries a handy galloping mass of 52.5kgs and can earn another cheque for his patrons.
Race 3
TRIP TO STATES is still a maiden after 23 starts, but his last two outings have been fair. It must be noted that the horse that finished third in his last outing has come out and won since. Gavin Lerena is booked to ride, and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.
MISS TAKES ran a fair race over 1200m last time. He lost two lengths leaving the start, but stayed on at the finish. If jumping on terms, he should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.
TOMMY SHELBY showed some improvement in his last start over this distance at Turffontein. The son of Querari is a progressive type and with 55kgs on his back, he may have more to come.
Race 4
CURTISS CONDOR has produced three good runs to date. He raced from a handy position over 1600m at Turffontein last time and stayed on to finish fourth. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. He jumps from a good draw of two and should love the rise to 1800m. Gavin Lerena is booked to ride, and the combination may find themselves in the winner’s enclosure.
ETHICAL stayed on at the finish after getting squeezed at the start last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. If finding the form of her penultimate run, she should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.
FLIGHTLIGHT finished 2.2 lengths behind the second-choice last time. She is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish.

Race 5
BANHA BRIDGE has fair consistent form lines to his credit. He stayed on at the finish over 2000m on this course last time. It must be noted that Aladdin’s Lamp has come out and won again since. Gavin Lerena is booked to ride, and he may be able to get the best out of him where it matters most.
DOUGLAS DRAGON ran on and tried hard when second over 2600m on the Turffontein Inside course last time. He won his only attempt over this C&D. He is an honest type and merits healthy respect.
TEO TORRIATTE had to overcome a wide draw over 1800m last time. She has finished third in both her efforts over this C&D. She is likely to race on the speed once again and should give the males a run for their money.
Race 6
TWENTYTWENTYVISION showed good improvement in his last start over 1200m on this course. The manner in which he stayed on at the finish was encouraging. He drops back to 1000m, and the blinkers will sharpen him up. Piere Strydom rides on his peak run and if confirming his recent improvement, he may be the one to beat.
ORIENTAL BOUQUET flyjumped leaving the start last time and stayed on at the finish. He runs well for Chase Maujean and is one of the leading contenders.
GLOBAL THUNDER showed good speed over 1200m last time and tried hard all the way to the line. The fitting of the cheekpieces seems to have done the trick. She is in a good space and may be hard to peg back.
Race 7
LAST CAR TO PASS has finished second in her last two starts after a 12-week break. She was running on over this C&D last time. She is having her peak run today and with Craig Zackey in the saddle, she should be competitive.
BEYNAC raced from a handy position over 1800m last time and stayed on to finish third. He is having his second run after a rest and should strip much fitter. He should be the first male past the post.
KEY NEWS was in need of his comeback run in the Non-Black Type Betway Secretariat Stakes last time. It must be noted that Choisaanada has come out and won again since. He will strip much fitter and must be considered.
Race 8
PALACE PRINCE made the expected natural improvement when winning his last start over 1160m at Turffontein. The son of Potala Palace is a progressive type and Muzi Yeni retains the ride. He does take on stronger but has plenty of scope and should be up to the task at hand.
PEARL IN HER CROWN ran a fair race over 1800m on this course last time. She drops back to 1400m and the blinkers should sharpen her up. Should the top choice fluff his lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.
SAIL THE SKY is better than his last start over 1600m on the Classic course. His three starts prior to that outing were good. 4kgs claiming apprentice Girish Samo-Burthia takes the ride and he would not be a shock winner
