Winning Form selections for @Hollywoodbets Scottsville on Sunday 24th August where there are huge prizes available in the free to enter Punters Challenge
Race 1
ICONIC WINTER hails from the visiting Paul Matchett stable. She should have finished closer to the winner last time as she hung in the final 150m. She meets the right field and if all went well with her travels, she may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.
HOLLANDIA BAKKERIJ ran a fair race on debut over this C&D. The son of Erupt would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, he should pose a massive threat.
BUDDY BOY is an unraced son of What A Winter from the Mike and Mathew de Kock stable with Callan Murray in the saddle. He is related to three-time winner Casino Queen. If not in need of the outing, he should start his career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to his chances.
Race 2
ROYAL SWORD is the best bet on the programme. He showed good improvement when second over 1200m last time. The son of William Longsword is a progressive type and in this type of field, he can go one better.
TWOCANTANGO stayed on when fourth over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Greyville last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.
CHEERSCHEERSCHEERS is an unraced son of Hawwaam from the Mike and Mathew de Kock yard with Callan Murray booked to ride. He is related to multiple winners including Force Eight and Arverni King. If not in need of this outing, he should start his career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to his chances.
Race 3
ACT OF GRACE is better than her last start as she was reported to be distressed and coughing post- race. It must be noted that the form of that outing has been franked. She finished second in her previous two efforts over this distance. The daughter of Act Of War jumps from pole position and she may be the one to beat.
MRS STORMIATRIX showed massive improvement in her last start over this C&D. The blinkers seem to have done the trick. If confirming her recent effort, she should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.
TIPPERARY ran a decent race when third over this distance at the Vaal last time. She finished third in her only attempt over this C&D. If all went well with her travels, she should finish in the placings.
Race 4
WARRIOR ROYALE was not disgraced when sixth in the Grade 3 Umzimkhulu Stakes last time. She returns from a 21-week break which may have done her the world of good. She has won once and finished second twice from as many starts over this C&D. The daughter of Vercingetorix is the stable elect with Tristan Godden in the saddle and she can go close.
PERILLA showed some signs of a form return when fifth in the Listed Off To Stud Stakes last time. Five of her seven career victories have come over this distance. The daughter of Erupt will be mowing down the frontrunners.
MALCOLM‘S DREAM was her own worst enemy over this C&D last time as she over raced in the early stages. If finding the form of her penultimate run, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.
Race 5
PRANKSTER has some good recent form lines to her credit. She showed good speed over this C&D last time but did not go on with the effort. The daughter of Canford Cliffs drops back in class and may be the horse to beat.
JANE‘S VISION returns from an 11-week break which may have done her the world of good. The daughter of Visionaire also takes a drop in class and she gets the services of 4kgs claiming Apprentice Dezahn Louw. On best form shown, she should be involved at the finish.
QUENTASIA ran a fair race when third over 1200m on the polytrack last time. She runs well for 2.5kgs claiming Apprentice Mxolisi Mbuto and cannot be discounted.
Race 6
JP‘S PALACE ran a good race when third over 1600m at Hollywoodbets Greyville last time. He raced wide around the turn, but the manner in which he stayed on at the finish that day was encouraging. The son of Potala Palace won over this C&D, three runs ago. He is having his peak run and from pole position, he should be the horse to beat.
QUEUE WING has good recent form lines to his credit. He cast a shoe in running last time which did not help his cause. The 8yo gelding is an honest type and merits healthy respect.
PLUM PUDDING finished 0.5 lengths behind TROIS TROIS QUATRE last time. She is 2.5kgs better off at the weights and that should be enough for the tables to be turned.
Race 7
LA MADDALENA has not finished too far off the winner in her last two starts. She was running on when fourth over 1500m last time. Apprentice Jacey Botes takes the 2.5kgs off her back and in this field, she can return to winning ways.
ULTRA QUICK ran a good race when fourth over 1400m on this course last time. He raced from a handy position and stayed on at the finish. He has cracked pole position and should be the first male past the post.
QUINN‘S TIME found betting support in his first run out of the maidens. The son of Act Of War has scope and if jumping on terms, he can feature.
Race 8
RUN TO RIO ran a good race when second over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Greyville last time. He raced from a handy position, moved up well before getting outrun late by Wing Walker. He has won once, finished second once and third once from five starts on this course. Tristan Godden retains the ride, and the combination can go one better.
MVELELO cost himself winning last time as he hung in the final 350m. He will strip a much fitter horse today and from his good draw of three, he can go one better.
RECORD HIGH won a good race over this distance on the polytrack last time. He received a four-pound penalty for that victory. With a bit of luck in running, he should be competitive
