BRUMBIES V FIJIAN DRUA
Posted 23h48 03 May
The Brumbies have picked a strong team as they look to cement their playoff spot.
The Drua have bagged some big scalps this season, but they have come at home and they are a side that tends to switch off when they are on the road and fall a few points behind. I am tempted by the -15.5 on the Brumbies, but I prefer a punt on their points line and will bet on them to score 36 points or more.
BET: 4 Units, Brumbies over 35.5 points at 8/10 at Sportingbet*

CHIEFS v FORCE
Posted 23h45 03 May
This handicap opened -16.5 overseas which is where I set it, but it quickly moved to 20.5 and has now climbed to the mid-20’s. It is one of those times where I put up my hand and say I got the handicap wrong and certainly won’t be backing the Force on the plus. The Force have been improved this season, but they continue to struggle on the road and I think they are going to find this Chiefs side far too strong. Total points is set at 59.5 and Chiefs points at 42.5, but rather than go overs on either of those, I am going to bet that the Force get 2 tries or less as I think they are going to find the Chiefs defence has their number.
BET: 3 Units, Force under 2.5 tries at 17/20 at Pokerbet
GLOUCESTER v BENETTON
The handicap has ranged between -4.5 Gloucester and -6.5 all week. Benetton have certainly been an improved side in the URC and Gloucester are battling a bit in the Gallagher Premiership, but I am in agreement with the panellists on last night’s THE HANDICAP and think the English side will be too strong at home.
BET: 4 Units, Gloucester -5.5 at 19/20 at WSB
CRUSADERS v REDS
The Crusaders started looking more like their old selves last week against the Rebels and although the Reds have put in some impressive displays this year they have struggled on the road. The current handicap is Crusaders -9.5 with the points line at 53.5. Both panellists on last night’s
THE HANDICAP liked the overs and I may yet be tempted but for starters I will have some of the -9.5.
BET: 4 Units Crusaders -9.5 at 9/10 at Betxchange*

MOANA PASIFIKA v HIGHLANDERS
Posted 14h54 03 May
There has been massive movement on this handicap as it opened +6.5 Moana before moving to +2.5 and currently sits at Pasifika -2.5 as they gear up for their first proper home game of the season. I can’t back any of these teams with confidence and find myself looking to the total points line which is 53.5. Conditions look like being poor with some rain forecast, but also high humidity levels and given how the Highlanders have struggled to score points of late, unders look the play here.
BET: 3 Units, under 53.5 points at 0.86/1 at WSB*

REBELS v BLUES
Posted 00h17 03 May
This handicap has been fairly stable and currently sits around +14.5 Rebels which is very much where I expected it to be having come out at +13.5 in my Sunday night’s exercise. The Rebels are a side well capable of contributing to the scoreboard at home and I expect this Blues side to score plenty themselves and rather than take on the handicap, I am going to bet that we get 60 points or more in the game.
BET: 4 Units, Over 59.5 points at 9/10 at at Pokerbet*

HURRICANES v WARATAHS
Posted 00h14 03 May
This handicap has been stable since opening Hurricanes-20.5 and if pushed I would back the Canes to beat the Handicap here, but the Waratahs are capable of scoring points and I am rather going to look for an interest elsewhere. The total points line looks high at 60.5 and I expect the Hurricanes to cut loose and at some point and will back them to score 41 points or more.
BET: 3 Units, Hurricanes over 40.5 at 17/20 at WSB
