The headline game on this weekend's Betway Premiership coupon is undoubtedly Saturday's clash between Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns at Soccer City
Kaizer Chiefs
Chiefs came firing out of the blocks in their 3-1 win away to Amazulu in midweek. They were 3-0 up by the 23rd minute and although they conceded early in the second half they made it 2 wins from 2 and increased the optimism among the fan base.
Chiefs had begun a new era under coach Nabi with a 2-1 win away to Marumo Gallants. Despite conceding inside the first 10 minutes they were soon level and scored the only goal of the second half after Gallants were reduced to 10 men.
Chiefs are currently trading at 48/1 to win the league title this season.
Sundowns
Sundowns also have 2 wins from 2 matches and in their midweek home fixture they thrashed Marumo Gallants 4-1, scoring twice in each half through 4 different players. Earlier they made a winning start thanks to second half goals for a 2-0 home win in the derby with Supersport.
Downs thrashed Mbabane Swallows 4-0 in both legs their recent CAF Champions League clash but they threw in some indifferent performances in the MTN8, edging their way past Polokwane 1-0 in the quarters before losing both legs of their semi final match up with Stellenbosch by a 1-0 scoreline.
Sundowns are bidding to make it 8 league titles in a row and they are 0.12/1 to retain the crown this season.
Recent Head to Head
Downs won both league meetings last season 2-1 in their home fixture and they handed out a 5-1 hiding to Chiefs in the return.
The teams also met in the MTN8 semi finals last season, the first contest finished all square at 1-1 and Downs won the second leg 2-1.

The Verdict:
This will tell us plenty more about Chiefs in terms of whether they can mount a title challenge this season and their odds in the outright market to be crowned champions suggest the sponsors think they won't be on the premises.
Sundowns have been steadily improving and could provide a reality check for their opponents but I'm staying away from the match result and with both sides banging in the goals in midweek, I will side with both teams to score here.
