Winning Form selections for @Hollywoodbets Greyville on Wednesday 14th May where there are huge prizes available in the free to enter Punters Challenge
Race 1
STAR IN MOTION ran a fair race on debut over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. He lost a length leaving the start, but stayed on at the finish. The son of Gimmethegreenlight would have come on from the run and should love the extra 200m on offer. With the natural improvement that is expected, he may be the one to beat.
GEORGE’S MAGIC was a tad disappointing in his last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. He has been gelded since that outing which may have done the trick. If finding the form of his penultimate run, he should pose a threat.
THAT’LL B THE DAY is an unraced son of Vercingetorix from the Glen Kotzen stable with Chad Little in the saddle. If not in need of this outing, he should start his career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to him and the other unraced entrants.
Race 2
MALSHANA MOU’S last two starts have been good. She showed pace over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time and rallied late. The daughter of Vercingetorix should have no issues with the rise to 1400m and if suited to the polytrack, she can shed her maiden tag.
ALANNAH found one too good in the form of Educator last time. The daughter of Ideal World is coming along the right way and with luck in running, she may be the one to fill the exacta spot once again.
MRSGLITTERSPARKLES finished 0.4 lengths behind the second selection last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them at the finish.
Race 3
MISS PAGET was running on when third over 1200m on the turf last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. She has won twice, finished second once and third twice from eight starts over this C&D. The daughter of Master Of My Fate is likely to be settled near the rear of the field and she will be mowing down the frontrunners.
THE QUEEN BEE ran a fair race over 1200m on the turf last time. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.
MY TRUE LOVE finished 0.5 lengths behind the second selection last time. She is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish.
Race 4
KING BAVARIAN set the pace over 2200m on the turf last time, but found one too good in the form of Saxon Dynasty. He finished third in his only attempt over this C&D. The son of Linngari is the stable elect with Athandiwe Mgudlwa in the saddle and he may be the one to beat.
BASIE RAAKVAT finished 1.8 lengths behind the top selection last time. He is 0.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may battle to turn the tables.
NATIONAL DREAM fought hard for his last victory over 1800m on the turf. He has won four times, finished second once and third once from seven starts over this C&D. Apprentice Nirvan Nastili takes the 2.5kgs off his back which will assist his cause.
Race 5
UZWANO stayed on when sixth over 1800m on the turf last time. The son of Ideal World finished second in his only attempt over this C&D. Sean Veale steps back into the saddle and the combination may find themselves in the winner’s enclosure.
VIVA DE JANEIRO should have finished closer to the winner last time as he was cramped for galloping room at the 150m mark. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. If taking to the surface, he should pose a threat.
IMPERIAL POWER was his own worst enemy last time as he over raced in the early stages. His last victory came over this C&D. If Siphesihle Hlengwa can switch him off early, he can go close.
Race 6
BOOM BOOM stayed on when second over 1400m at the Vaal last time. The daughter of Erupt has won over this distance previously. She drops back in class and if all went well with her travels, she may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.
THE MIGHTIEST hails from the visiting Weiho Marwing stable. She has won once and finished second twice from as many starts over this C&D. The daughter of Captain Of All gets the pacifiers fitted which may do the trick.
GREENHOUSE showed some signs of needing her last start over this distance on the turf. She would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. Kabelo Matsunyane is booked to ride and she would not be a shock winner.
Race 7
MR HENLEY is better than his last start over this distance on the turf as he raced wide around the turn. He has won three times, finished second twice and third twice from eight starts over this C&D. Jabu Jacobs retains the ride from pole position and on best form shown, he may be the one to beat.
RICH FOLKS HOAX finished 0.1 lengths behind QUANDARY last time. He is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish.
QUANDARY fought hard for his last victory over this distance on the turf. His record on this course is a slight concern, but he is in a good space and cannot be ignored.
Race 8
DARING ACT finished 1.95 lengths behind PURPLE POWAHOUSE last time. He is 5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. Apprentice Mxolisi Mbuto is likely to use his early gate speed to overcome the awkward draw of eight and the combination may be hard to peg back.
PURPLE POWAHOUSE has done his usual best work late when second over 1000m on the turf, in his last two starts. Three of his four career victories have come over this C&D. If not too far out of his ground turning for home, he can go one better.
THERE SHE GOES has good recent form lines to her credit. She challenged strongly over this distance on the Turffontein Inside course last time, but found one too good in the form of Vitellius. She should give the males a run for their money.
Race 9
ICY ELEANOR produced an encouraging comeback run after 51 weeks off the track. She showed good pace over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville that day, and stayed on to finish second. The daughter of What A Winter would have come on from the run and she should strip much fitter. She is a filly with ability and if taking to the surface, she should take a power of beating.
RUGGER LOVER finished 0.5 lengths behind the top choice last time. She is 1kg better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result. She is carded to race on 10 May 2025 and her progress in that race will need to be monitored.
HAPPY ANALIA won a good race over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. She is in a good space and merits healthy respect
