Race 1

He should enjoy the extra 200m on offer and if taking to the surface from pole position, he should find himself in the winner’s enclosure. 

MASTER SILVANO has produced two good runs to date. He was rushed up to set the pace over 1200m last time before lacking extra late. The son of Master Of My Fate has scope and he is one of the leading contenders over the extra 200m. 

PEMBURY showed very good improvement when sixth over this C&D last time. He lost a length leaving the start that day and stayed on at the finish. The son of Ideal World is a progressive type and may have more to come.

Race 2

WINDS OF CHANGE is much better than his last start in the Grade 2 Golden Horse Sprint. His penultimate run when third in the Grade 1 TAB Computaform Sprint catches the eye. He is the best-weighted runner in this contest and if taking to the surface, he should take a power of beating. 

FUTURE VARIETY ran a moderate race in the Grade 2 Golden Horse Sprint last time. He has won twice and finished second twice from seven starts over this distance. Should the top selection fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces. 

BOURBON WARRIOR is better than his last two starts at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth in his last outing has come out and won since. If taking to the polytrack, he can finish in the placings.

Race 3

BERRINGTON BLEW showed good speed over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time, but found one too good in the form of Quickstepgal. She returns from a 19-week break, during which time she would have strengthened up. She is a speedy filly who will carry 50.5kgs thanks to 4kgs claiming apprentice Blaine Marx-Jacobson. If not in need of the run, she may be hard to peg back. 

HOLY STAR was a beaten odds-on favourite in his last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. He is a progressive type and should go close with Gavin Lerena in the saddle. 

SIMBINE was outrun late when fourth over this distance at Turffontein last time. The son of What A Winter has scope and if all went well with his travels, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 4

JUMPTHEGREENLIGHT returns from an 18-week break, during which time she would have strengthened up. She stayed on at the finish when sixth over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight has scope and in this type of field, she would not be a shock winner. 

VALLI GIRL found one too good in the form of Nautical Landing last time. She would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. Muzi Yeni is booked to ride and he may be able to get the best out of her where it matters most. 

INTRO ran a fair race in her first outing for Kumaran Naidoo. She is back against her own sex and with S’manga Khumalo in the saddle, she should feature.

Race 5

WINDOW TO MY SOUL is better than his last start as he was reported to be not striding out. His penultimate run when second over this C&D catches the eye. The son of One World gets the blinkers fitted which should keep his mind on the task at hand. From pole position, he can shed his maiden tag. 

FINE WINE stayed on when second over 1600m on this course last time. The daughter of Futura should love the rise to 2000m. With a bit of luck from the widest draw, she should throw out a big challenge to the top choice. 

TAKEYOURBESTSHOT raced from a handy position over 1600m last time and stayed on to finish second. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. The son of What A Winter should run another honest race. 

 

 

Race 6

LEGENDARY was not disgraced when sixth in the Non-Black Type Secretariat Stakes last time. It must be noted that Choisaanada has come out and won the Highveld Winter Series. He returns from a short nine- week break. The son of William Longsword tries the polytrack and if taking to the surface, he should go close. 

GLOBAL MOVEMENT stayed on when third over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. Tristan Godden retains the ride and from pole position, he should pose a threat. 

WHITE SEAHORSE is better than his last start suggests as the saddle was reported to have slipped in running. He finished third in his only attempt over this C&D. Gavin Lerena rides and the combination merit healthy respect. 

Race 7

JOSHUA HOTSNAKE set the pace over this C&D in the Non-Black Type KZN Breeders 1600m last time, tried hard but found one too good in the form of Lucky Dollar. He would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. Despite his big mass of 64kgs, he may be hard to peg back. 

EL REY VIENE is better than his last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. He has finished third in both his efforts on this course. Sean Veale is likely to use his early gate speed to overcome the wide draw and he may be hard to peg back. 

CONNOISSEUR stayed on when fourth over 1400m on this course last time. He would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. With a bit of luck in running, he can enter the frame.

Race 8

MEXICAN PETE stayed on at the finish after losing a length at the start last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. It is encouraging that Muzi Yeni retains the ride and if jumping on terms, he can win a race of this nature. 

PLAZA ACCORD tried hard when second over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. He meets a similar line-up this afternoon and merits healthy respect. 

ROSH KEDESH was an easy winner of his last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. He takes on stronger, but is in a good space and cannot be ignored. 

Race 9

GAELIC DANCER hails from the visiting Paul Matchett stable. She showed good speed over 1000m on the Turffontein Inside course last time, before getting outrun late by Faithful Neo. She takes a drop in class and with Gavin Lerena booked to ride from a good draw of three, she should be the one to beat. 

BANK STREET ran a good race when third in his stable debut over 1400m on this course. He has won once and finished second once from three starts over this distance. He is likely to be settled near the rear of the field and will be mowing down the frontrunners. 

VICTOR RAIL has fair recent form lines to his credit. Both his career victories have come on this course. The son of Visionaire should earn another cheque for his patrons. 

Race 10

HAPPY FORTUNE showed good signs of a form return over 1400m on this course last time. She raced from a handy position and had to be steadied at the 1000m mark. The daughter of Pathfork is having her peak run and will be cherry-ripe. With a bit of luck in running, she can return to winning ways. 

PAPILLON BLU followed up her maiden win with an equally impressive victory over this C&D. She received a seven-pound penalty for that victory. Gavin Lerena rides and with a bit of luck in running, she can bring up the hat-trick. 

CRAFTY CROFTY was an easy winner of her last start over 1000m on the turf. She returns from a well-deserved 11-week break. She takes on stronger, but has scope and should give a good account of herself
