After a three-week break, Formula 1 returns for the second half of the season as the drivers head to Circuit Zandvoort for the Dutch Grand Prix. In this preview, we’ll look at the race from a betting perspective and highlight a few suggested plays for consideration.
Previous Race – Hungarian GP
The final race before the summer break saw Lando Norris deliver exactly what he needed, outpacing his teammate to take victory and cut the gap in the Drivers’ Championship. Oscar Piastri secured second place, while George Russell continued his strong form with another podium finish in third.
CHAMPIONSHIP UPDATE
Oscar Piastri 284 points
Lando Norris 275 points
Max Verstappen 187 points
George Russell 172 points
The bookies still have Piastri as favourite to win the Drivers Championship, trading at 1.60 while Norris is trading at 2.20. Max Verstappen is 67.00 and as the odds suggest he doesn’t appear to have the form or time to get back in contention.

Dutch GP 2024
Last year’s race at Circuit Zandvoort saw Lando Norris pull off a brilliant victory, denying Max Verstappen the chance to win in front of his home crowd. Charles Leclerc claimed the final podium spot in third, while Oscar Piastri narrowly missed out in fourth. It was around this point in the season that Norris began to hit a rich vein of form as he launched his pursuit of Verstappen in the Drivers’ Championship.

Circuit Zandvoort – Track Profile
The Dutch Grand Prix takes place at Circuit Zandvoort, a 4.3 km circuit set among sand dunes on the North Sea coast. Known for its fast, flowing corners and steep banking, overtaking opportunities are limited, which makes qualifying position and pit-stop strategy especially crucial. Strong downforce and tyre management are key factors for success here.
VERDICT
Lando Norris has narrowed the gap in the Drivers’ Championship to just nine points, and he’ll know the importance of maintaining momentum as the season enters its final stretch. He returns to Circuit Zandvoort, the scene of his breakthrough win last year, where his remarkable run of form truly began. Fresh off another impressive victory in the last race, Norris carries both confidence and momentum into this weekend and I’m backing him to win again.
Suggested Bet: Lando Norris to win at 2.60.

George Russell continues to quietly put together a strong 2025 season, collecting yet another podium in the previous race despite much of the spotlight falling elsewhere. Determined to prove he deserves the role of Mercedes’ number one driver, Russell heads into Zandvoort with momentum on his side. With the added incentive of potentially moving ahead of Verstappen in the Drivers’ Championship, he looks well placed to challenge for another podium finish this Sunday.
Suggested Bet: George Russell podium finish at 3.00.
