BettingDiaryThe Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban plays host to this year’s MTN8 Cup final between Mamelodi Sundowns and Cape Town City and we take a look at the game from a betting angle.

Sundowns were comfortable winners of their semi-final against Golden Arrows taking the two-legged affair 4-1 on aggregate after drawing away from home 1-1 and then winning 3-0 at home. Prior to that they required penalties to see off Kaizer Chiefs in the last 8.

Sundowns are travelling very well in the League where they are currently firm favourites to defend their title, but they were most recently in International action where they also bagged the victory over Maniema.

Cape Town City drew the first leg of their semi-final 0-0 at home to Swallows, but were much stronger on the road winning 4-0 for a comfortable aggregate victory. They had beaten AmaZulu 2-1 away from home in their last 8 games. In the League they played out a thrilling 4-3 victory over Golden Arrows on Saturday almost blowing a 4-0 lead.

Mamelodi Sundowns 4/7

Draw 28/10

Cape Town City 11/2

Suggested Bet: Cape Town City to lift the Cup at 28/10

It takes a brave or stupid man to oppose Sundowns in local football, but I just think that Cape Town City have found their groove and could be the team to pull off an upset here.

I will also be having a look at the goals market when available and will add another bet if I find one.
