BettingDiaryThere are two ICC T20 World Cup matches taking place on Wednesday and we suggest a few bets in each of them.

ENGLAND V BANGLADESH

This game takes place in Abu Dhabi and pits the 33/10 second favourites, England up against the 100/1 outsiders, Bangladesh.

England were dominant in their opening game against the West Indies where they won the toss and elected to field, bowling their opponents out for 55 runs. All of the bowlers contributed, but the stand out performer was Adil Rashid with 4 wickets for 2 runs in 2.2 overs. England knocked off the runs in the 9th over for the loss of 4 wickets with Buttler leading the charge with an unbeaten 24 at more than a run a ball.

Bangladesh looked to have set a challenging target when they posted up 171 for 4 in their opening game against Sri Lanka. Mohammad Naim and Mushfiqur Rahim both got 50’s in good time however the Sri Lankan’s ended up winning by 5 wickets with just over an over to spare as the Bangladeshi bowlers failed to fire and a couple of dropped catches in the deep proved costly.

England 1/4

Bangladesh 3/1

Suggested Bet: Player to Score the Most 6’s, Buttler at 7/2

Buttler showed in the first match that he is in good form and he is certainly a worthy favourite in this market as he is a man who clears over boundary with ease.

Suggested Bet: Top Away Batsman, Mahmudullah at 7/1

While the Bangladeshi top order looked good in their opening game I think they are going to struggle against the English and Mahmudullah will hopefully be required to play a long innings.

SCOTLAND v NAMIBIA

This match between two of the Tournaments rank outsiders takes place in Abu Dhabi.

Scotland were very disappointing in their opening match against Afghanistan in Sharjah. Afghanistan won the toss and elected to bat first, scoring an impressive 190 for 4 in their 20 overs. Mark Watt was the pick of the Scottish bowlers with 1 for 23 in his 4 overs. George Munsey then got Scotland off to a solid enough start before the wickets starting tumbling and they were bowled out for 60 runs in the 11th over.

Namibia play their first match of the Super-12 section of the Tournament having come through the group stages with victories over Ireland and the Netherlands and their 7 wicket defeat to Sri Lanka. There are a number of names in the team which will be familiar to South African supporters of the domestic game.

Scotland 4/6

Namibia 5/4

Suggested Bet: Namibia win at 5/4

Scotland must be at an absolute low after that disappointing first match and I am a little bit surprised to see them as favourites against Namibia as I thought this would start an even match.

Namibia have the likes of Wiese in their team, a player capable of swinging a match and I am happy to side with the underdogs in this one.

Suggested Bet: Most Match 6’s, Namibia at 11/10

There are a number of boundary hitters in this Namibia team and while this is a much smaller play than my Namibia Win bet it will give me a nice interest.
