Race 1

MISS MUNROE was a tad disappointing in her last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. She ran a good race when third over this distance on the Turffontein Inside course in her penultimate run. Chamu Mabaya is booked to ride and in this field, she may be the one to side with.

BELLISSIVAR is better than her last start as she cast a shoe in running. She finished second in her penultimate run over this distance on the Turffontein Inside course. She gets the blinkers fitted for the first time which should keep her mind on the task at hand. She gets the services of top work rider Phelisile Mongqawa and is one of the leading contenders.

PERINI PALACE should have finished closer last time as she hung in the latter stages. She is better suited to further, but is in a good space and can earn another cheque for her patrons.

Race 2

KWAGGA BLITZ received a bump leaving the start last time but stayed on to finish fourth. His penultimate run when second over this distance at Turffontein catches the eye. He is having his peak run today and will be cherry-ripe. Piere Strydom is booked to ride and he may be the one to side with.

PACIFIC has improved in his last two starts, the latest of which was over 1160m at Turffontein. Muzi Yeni retains the ride and should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

PURSUIT OF FAME showed good improvement when second over 1200m last time. He showed good pace but found one too good in the form of Captain Efficient. The son of Oratorio will be at peak fitness and it is encouraging that Gavin Lerena is booked to ride.

Race 3

SAY IT WITH ROSES ran on powerfully when winning her last start over this distance on the Turffontein Inside course. She received a four-pound penalty for that victory. The daughter of Flower Alley may still be ahead of the handicapper and she can follow up with another victory.

AVOONTOAST is a winner of her last two starts, the latest of which was over this distance on the Turffontein Inside course. She takes a rise in class but is in a good space and can bring up the hat-trick.

APACHE FIGHTER finished 0.3 lengths behind INDIAN OCEAN last time. She is 1kg better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. She is having her peak run today and will be cherry-ripe.

Race 4

THUNEE PLAYA was given a peach of a ride when winning his last start over 1600m. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. 2.5kgs claiming apprentice Trent Mayhew retains the ride and with luck from the widest draw, he should be the one to beat once again.

ROSY LEMON has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. She has won twice and finished second once from seven starts over this distance. Should the top choice fluff his lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.

ROMEO’S MAGIC ran on powerfully when winning his last start over 2000m on the Turffontein Inside course. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He has won once and finished third once from three starts over this C&D. Nathan Klink retains the ride and he must be included in all bets.

Race 5

THE AFRICA HOUSE has fair recent form lines to his credit. He has won once and finished third once from as many starts on this course. The son of What A Winter takes a big drop in class and with Gavin Lerena back in the saddle, he may be the one to side with.

RAINBOW REWARD has consistent form lines to his name. He took the lead at the 200m mark last time before getting caught late by Chyavana. He finished second in his only C&D attempt and is one of the leading contenders.

CALLMEWHENUNEEDME was an easy winner of her last start over this distance. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. 2.5kgs claiming apprentice Trent Mayhew takes the ride and she should give the males a run for their money.

Race 6

VIRGINIA BEACH showed good speed when winning her last start over this distance at Turffontein. She has won once, finished second twice and third once from as many starts on this course. The blinkers have done the trick. She is the form horse in this contest and is the horse to beat.

MIST IN SCOTLAND is better than her last start at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. She has won once, finished second twice and third once from five starts over this C&D. Malesela Katjedi steps back into the saddle and she should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.

WAR QUEEN is better than her last start as she raced wide around the turn with no cover. The 11-week break would have done her the world of good and if not in need of this outing, she should have a say.

Race 7

WHAT A TIGER’S last two starts have been good. He stayed on when second over this distance at Turffontein last time. Four of his five career victories have come over this distance. He meets a similar line-up this afternoon and with Gavin Lerena in the saddle, he may be the one to side with.

KINSHIN SHA finished 0.2 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish.

ON CUE ran a good race when second over 1160m at Turffontein last time. She has won once, finished second once and third twice from eight starts over this C&D. If jumping on terms, she should be involved in the fight to the finish.

Race 8

PHANTOM EXPRESS raced from just off the pace last time before getting outrun late. The daughter of What A Winter should enjoy the drop to 1000m. Raymond Danielson retains the ride and she may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.

MIDNIGHT FUSION’S last three starts have been fair. It must be noted that the form of her last outing has been franked. She is back against her own sex and should be competitive.

THE NAVY LARK is a winner of her last start over this C&D. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. She takes a rise in class but is back against her own sex and must be considered
