Race 1

BREATH OF MAGIC was a tad disappointing in his last start over 1450m on the Turffontein Inside course. His form prior to that outing was consistent. The son of Willow Magic meets the right field and from his good draw of two, he can shed his maiden tag.

PIKE PLACE did not shape in his last start over a mile on this course. He finished 1.25 lengths behind the top choice in his penultimate start. He is 1kg better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned.

LADY GREENSLEEVES was well beaten in her last start over 1450m on the Turffontein Inside course. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. On previous form, she should give the males a run for their money.

Race 2

TWENTY DRACHMA’S showed good improvement in his last start over 1600m at Turffontein. He challenged strongly, but found one too good in the form of Jury’s Out. The son of Danon Platina is progressive and will love the rise to 2000m. Philasande Mxoli retains the ride and he can go one better.

GAMER produced a promising debut effort over 1600m on this course. The son of Potala Palace would have come on from the run and will be at home over 2000m. He is carded to race on 12 November 2023 and his progress in that race will need to be monitored.

EXHALE stayed on at the finish over this distance on the Turffontein Inside course last time, but found one too good in the form of Kudzu. He jumps from a good draw of two and must be included in all bets.

Race 3

ROMEO’S MAGIC has good recent form lines to his credit. He was slow into stride over 1800m last time, but stayed on at the finish. Two of his six career victories have come over this distance. He is likely to be settled near the rear of the field and will be mowing down the frontrunners.

VIVA BRAZIL finished 1.35 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 1kg worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result.

LITTLE PRINCE stayed on when second over this distance on the Hollywoodbets Greyville Polytrack last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. He is carded to race on 09 November 2023 and his progress in that race will need to be monitored.

Race 4

FLYING BULL has produced two decent efforts since moving to the Tony Peter stable. He has won twice, finished second twice and third once from six starts on this course. He is having his peak run today and is capable of returning to winning ways.

BATTLEGROUND was disappointing in his last start over this distance at Turffontein. He was a winner of his previous two starts. It is encouraging that Richard Fourie retains the ride and if putting his best foot forward, he should pose a massive threat.

STREET ART is the stable companion of the top choice. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth in his last outing has come out and won since. He is carded to race on 09 November 2023 and his progress in that race will need to be monitored.

Race 5

RICHARD THE FIRST took on a competitive field in the Grade 3 Betway Graham Beck Stakes last time. His two starts prior to that outing were good. He has won once, finished second twice and third once from five starts over this distance. He is the best-weighted runner in this contest and he can return to winning ways.

TSAR BOMBA has finished third in his last three starts over this distance. He will strip a much fitter horse today and if keeping on a straight line, he should throw out a challenge to the top choice.

SILVER TUDOR raced from just off the pace last time, moved up but was outrun late. He is having his peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. Richard Fourie is back in the saddle and he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 6

PRINCEOFGREEN was slow into stride over 1450m last time, raced from a handy position before finding one too good in the form of Zinovi. He would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. He should have no issues with the drop to 1200m and from his handy draw of four, he may be the one to side with.

ESQUEVELLE won a good race in his last start over this C&D. He received a seven-pound penalty for that victory. He does carry a big mass of 63.5kgs, but he is in a good space and merits healthy respect.

SUPER AGRA finished 2.25 lengths behind the second choice last time. He is 3.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. However, ESQUEVELLE won easier than the official margin suggests and he may still have the upper hand.

Race 7

DUENNA took the lead at the 200m mark last time, but was outrun late. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. The drop to 1450m should be right up her alley. She takes a drop-in class and may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.

PARKER GETRIX won a good race in his last start over 1800m on this course. He took the lead at the 350m mark and kept finding all the way to the line. Raymond Danielson retains the ride and the pair merit healthy respect.

GODFATHER has decent recent form lines to his credit. He has won once, finished second once and third twice from six starts on this course. With luck in running, he should be competitive.

Race 8

FUNKY MUSIC finished 4.15 lengths behind FORT LAUDERDALE last time. He is 9kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He has won three times, finished second twice and third once from nine starts over this distance. Apprentice Trent Mayhew takes the 4kgs off his back and he should be the one to beat.

CAPTAIN OF GRIT has good recent form lines to his credit. He takes a drop-in class this afternoon. The 5yo gelding is ideally C&D suited and is one of the leading contenders.

FORT LAUDERDALE won a good race in his last start over 1450m on the Turffontein Inside course. He does have a wide draw of ten to contend with, but gets the services of Piere Strydom who will give him all the necessary assistance from the saddle.

Race 9

SWEET BASIL won a game race on debut over 1400m. She showed a good turn of foot, moved up well and lasted just long enough. The daughter of Flower Alley returns from a 25-week break, during which time she would have strengthened up. She does take on stronger, but could be anything and can remain unbeaten.

RISKY BUSINESS stayed on when fifth over 1200m last time. She has finished second once and third once from as many starts on this course. She has cracked a good draw of three and if not in need of the run, she should have a say.

ROCK ON CAPTAIN’S last two starts have been fair. She takes a drop- in class today. She is versatile and can finish in the placings
