Race 1 

TRAJANUS made the trip to Hollywoodbets Scottsville on debut. He showed good speed, tried hard but found one too good in the form of Little Boy Blue. The son of Danon Platina would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, he should take a power of beating. 

SIMBINE stayed on when second over this C&D last time. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. Should the top selection fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces. 

BINGO ran a fair race over this C&D last time. He took his chances in the Listed TAB Storm Bird Stakes in his penultimate run. The son of Rafeef has scope and and he can show.

Race 2

FIERY ROSE produced a promising debut effort over 1160m on this course. She showed good speed, but found one too good in the form of Limerick Lace. The daughter of Fire Away should have no issues with the drop to 1000m. She would have gained from her debut experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, she may be the one to side with. 

QUEEN‘S PACT ran a fair race when fourth over this C&D last time. The daughter of Act Of War has scope and she is one of the leading contenders. 

ON THE RUN is an unraced daughter of Trippi from the Johan Janse van Vuuren stable with Gavin Lerena in the saddle. She does not need to be a stable superstar to win in this field. If not too green in running, she should start her career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to her and the other unraced entrants. 

Race 3

TEXAS RED is better than his last start in the Grade 2 Independent On Saturday Drill Hall Stakes. He has won twice, finished second twice and third twice from eight starts over this C&D. On previous form, he may be the one to side with. 

WHITE PEARL stayed on after a slow start over this C&D last time. She finished 2.25 lengths behind the top choice, three runs ago. She is 0.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result. 

RADICCHIO finished 0.8 lengths behind the second selection last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them at the finish. 

Race 4

PALACE PRINCE caught the eye when third over 1200m at the Vaal on debut. He lost two lengths leaving the gates, but finished off his race strongly. The son of Potala Palace would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, he should go close. 

EMERALD FORGE showed good speed over this C&D last time, tried hard but found one too good in the form of Alta Capitana. She has been costly to follow in her three runs to date. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight carries a handy galloping mass of 54.5kgs and she should give the males a run for their money. 

OLD FASHIONED is better than his last two starts. The son of Canford Cliffs has shown some promise and if putting his best foot forward, he should be competitive.

Race 5

TUSCAN ROMANCE set the pace over 1400m last time, but found one too good in the form of Pretty Persuasive. The daughter of Master Of My Fate would have come on from the outing and she should strip much fitter. She drops to 1160m and Richard Fourie may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her where it matters most. 

SHIMMERING showed some improvement in her last start over this C&D. She has been reported to be not striding out in both her career efforts. The daughter of The United States is a progressive type and if the stable have got on top of her issues, she should pose a threat. 

MERRYWEATHER showed signs of needing her last start over this C&D. She would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. If getting away to a clean start, she can finish in the placings.

 

 

Race 6

LIMERICK LACE was an easy winner on debut over 1160m on this course. She raced from just off the pace, showed a good turn of foot and won with a ton in hand. The daughter of Danon Platina should love the rise to 1400m. With a bit of luck from the widest draw, she can remain unbeaten. 

ALTA CAPITANA won a good race on debut over 1160m on this course. She showed good speed and fought hard all the way to the line. She should have no issues with the rise to 1400m and she is one of the leading contenders. 

RACHEL WALL found betting support when winning on debut over 1200m on the Inside course. She raced from a handy position, found a nice kick and won easier than the official margin suggests. The daughter of Buffalo Bill Cody could be anything and she cannot be ignored. 

Race 7

READ ALL ABOUT IT finished 1.8 lengths behind RED PENNY last time. He is 3kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The son of Hawwaam has been gelded since that outing which may have done the trick. Richard Fourie retains the ride, and he can return to winning ways. 

RED PENNY followed up his maiden victory with a good third-place finish over 1160m on this course. He moved up well that day before getting outrun late. He is in a good space and merits healthy respect.

TIN PAN ALLEY finished 1.8 lengths behind the second selection last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result. 

Race 8

OLIVIA‘S WAY was given a peach of a ride when winning the Grade 2 TAB Igugu Stakes last time. She has won once and finished second once from as many starts over this C&D. The daughter of Pathfork is nominated for the Grade 1 Hollywoodbets Durban July and she will be looking to secure her spot with a victory here. 

MUSICAL SCORE is a winner of his last two starts, the latest of which was over 1400m on this course. The son of Oratorio should have no issues with the rise to 1800m and he can bring up the hat-trick. 

IMMEDIATE EDGE was running on when second over 1400m in the Non-Black Type Betway Secretariat Stakes last time. He will love the rise to 1800m and carries a handy galloping mass of 52kgs. From his good draw of two, he is capable of fighting out the finish. 

Race 9

CONFEDERATE has top consistent form lines to his credit. He showed good guts when winning the Grade 1 TAB SA Classic last time. The son of Fire Away was carded to race in the Grade 1 Daily News 2000, but was scratched due to elevated TCO2 levels. This outing will bring him on nicely for the Grade 1 Hollywoodbets Durban July. He is unbeaten from two starts over this C&D and will be looking to keep that record intact. 

LEGEND OF ARTHUR found the 1400m on the sharp side last time. He won a good race in the Grade 1 TAB SA Derby in his penultimate effort. The son of Lancaster Bomber is fitted with steel shoes once again and is likely to be running on over this distance. This run will bring him to his peak for the Grade 1 Hollywoodbets Durban July. 

KAMENSKY is a winner of his last two starts over this C&D. He does have work to do at the weights, but is in a good space and cannot be ignored
