She has racing experience on her side and if Craig Zackey is able to keep her on a straight line, she may be the one to beat. 

WILD FIG is an unraced son of Fire Away from the Alan Greeff stable with Richard Fourie in the saddle. He is related to four-time winner Tulip Tree. If not in need of this outing, he should start his career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to his chances. 

YOU‘RE SO SPECIAL ran a good race on debut over this C&D. She should have finished closer to the winner as she hung inwards in the final 400m. The daughter of Master Of My Fate would have come on from the run and with the natural improvement that is expected, she should be competitive.

RACE 2

NORTH STAR is an unraced daughter of Erik The Red from the Alan Greeff stable with Richard Fourie in the saddle. She is related to two-time winner In The Green Zone. She does not need to be a stable superstar to win in this field. If not too green, she should start her career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to her chances. 

IVY showed good improvement when third over this distance on the polytrack last time. The blinkers seem to have done the trick. With racing experience on her side, she should be right there. 

HAZE AND SMOKE is a daughter of Potala Palace from the Sharon Kotzen stable with Luyolo Mxothwa up. She is related to five-time winner Get It Done. If not too green in running, she should give a good account of herself. 

RACE 3

ARTICUNO has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. She stayed on when third over 1200m on the polytrack last time. She finished 0.75 lengths behind SWEETIE DARLING, three runs ago. She is 3.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. Richard Fourie steps back into the saddle and she is the horse to beat. 

INDEBE MAYIBUYE won a good race over 1200m on this course last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces. 

SWEETIE DARLING is better than her last two starts at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. She won over 1200m on this course, three runs ago. The daughter of Royal Mo is likely to race on the speed and she may be hard to peg back.

RACE 4

SONG OF MYSELF ran a cracker when second over this distance at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth last time. She produced a strong finish that day. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. The daughter of Canford Cliffs has changed stables since that outing and if settled into her new surroundings, she should take a power of beating. 

ABOUND is better than his last start over this distance on the polytrack. It must be noted that Mercantour has come out and won again since. He gets the services of 2.5kgs claiming apprentice Brevan Plaatjies and on previous form, he should pose a threat. 

MASKED VIGILANTE ran a fair race in his comeback run over this distance on the polytrack. He would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. Richard Fourie steps back into the saddle and he cannot be ignored. 

RACE 5

OLIVE OYL has made the expected natural progression with each of her outings to date. She stayed on when third over 1200m on this course last time. The daughter of Vercingetorix will love the rise to 1400m. She jumps from a good draw of four and if keeping on a straight line, she should be the one to beat. 

UMZOLOZOLO returns from a short nine-week break and is having her first run in the Eastern Cape. It is encouraging that Richard Fourie is booked to ride and if settled into her new surroundings, she should fight out the finish. 

DANCING IN WINTER set the pace over this distance on the polytrack last time, before getting outrun late by Blossoming Mind. She is likely to race on the speed and may be hard to peg back. 

 

 

Race 6

IGUGULETHU was an impressive winner of his last start over this C&D. He received a five-pound penalty for that victory. He meets a similar line-up, is in a good space and can bring up the hat-trick. 

PEDRO finished 2.25 lengths behind the top selection last time. He is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish. 

RUN THE WORLD showed good signs of a form return over this distance at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth last time. He was slow into stride and stayed on at the finish. Apprentice Nirvan Nastili takes the 2.5kgs off his back which will assist his cause. If jumping on terms, he should feature.

RACE 7

MY BEST SHOT was super-impressive when winning the Listed WSB East Cape Derby last time. He showed a good turn of foot and won a lot easier than the official margin suggests. The son of Fire Away has been nominated for the Grade 1 Hollywoodbets Durban July. He should be ideally suited to this distance and will take a power of beating. 

ZATARA MAGIC won his last start over this C&D, easier than the official margin suggests. The fitting of the compression mask has done the trick. The son of Rabada may be the horse to fill the exacta spot. 

JOY AND PEACE‘S last three starts have been fair. She is unbeaten from two starts over this C&D. The daughter of Master Of My Fate is a solid back up for the Alan Greeff stable.

RACE 8

FIRST WISH ran a fair race when third in the Listed WSB East Cape Derby last time. Her form prior to that outing, against her own sex was consistent. She is the stable elect with Richard Fourie in the saddle and she can notch up her fifth-career victory. 

LOTUS ISLAND finished 2.75 lengths behind the top choice last time. She is 1kg worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result. 

GREENLITEALLTHEWAY is better than her last start in the Listed East Cape Oaks. Her two runs at Hollywoodbets Scottsville prior to that outing were creditable. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight should love the rise to 2400m and with her handy galloping mass of 52kgs, she cannot be ignored.

RACE 9

 LUNA HALO may be the one to side with. She is better than her last start suggests as she was reported to have a mouth injury. She has won three times, finished second once and third once from six starts over this C&D. She jumps from a good draw of four and if not too far out of her ground, she can return to winning ways. 

LADY SILVANO is a winner of her last two starts. She has won three times, finished second once and third twice from eight starts over this distance. She is likely to race on the speed and can bring up the hat-trick. 

RED SASH is better than her last start as she raced wide around the turn. On previous form, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest
