The PGA Tour heads to the Dominican Republic this week for the Corales Puntacana Resort and Club Championship and we select 4 players to take on the field.
After last week’s star studded US Open, this weeks field has a very different look to it with Will Zalatoris the current ruling favourite at 12/1. Mackenzie Hughes, who popped up towards the top of leader boards after the return to golf following the COVID-19 break, is the second favourite together with Sam Burns at 18/1 and you can get 20/1 and better the balance.
The course plays to a par 72 and it is certainly easy on the eye, but it is also fairly easy to get on top of with winning scores in the last 4 years around the minus 20 mark. This event has featured on the PGA Tour the last 2 years. A look at the stats shows that a hot putter will be important this week on the slower than usual greens and although a lengthy course, the landing areas on the fairways are very generous and it really becomes a question as to who sinks more putts.

Selections:
Mackenzie Hughes each way at 18/1
Hughes has had some solid form before a missed cut last week. He had previously come off three consecutive Top 15 finishes. He was also second here on debut in 2019 and in this field I really fancy him to go close.
Chris Stroud each way at 125/1
Stroud has been in poor form which explains his big price as he has done well at this course before with a runner-up finish. His current form would usually put me off, but at a triple figure price we aren’t taking much of a risk and in this field just the fact that he has played the course well in the past could see him in contention.
Keith Mitchell each way at 60/1
Mitchell hasn’t played on the PGA Tour for a few weeks and he wasn’t in the best of form before that. He does have some course form though finishing runner-up here two years ago although he did not play here last season.
Branden Grace each way at 50/1
Grace makes his debut in this Tournament and the course isn’t one that I would immediately say would suit him. He is also coming off a disappointing missed cut at the US Open, but prior to that did finish in the Top 30 and on class alone I feel he warrants consideration this week.
