Weather Forecast – Glasgow

Glasgow Warriors:

The Warriors are in second spot in the standings with a record of 9 wins and 4 defeats for 49 log points. They closed the gap on runaway leaders Leinster to 9 points in Round 13 whilst they have 4 points worth of daylight over the third placed Bulls and they are 5 better off than the Sharks who are fourth.

The Warriors edged out Munster 38-35 in Glasgow last weekend and they boast a 100% record in front of their own supporters in the URC this season. In South Africa earlier in the campaign they lost to the Sharks (28-24) in Durban but beat the Stormers (28-17) in Stellenbosh.

After this the Warriors host Leicester Tigers in the Champions Cup Round of 16. They will play 3 of their 4 remaining URC matches away from home including a visit to Leinster and the Bulls due in Glasgow in Round 16.

In the outright betting the Warriors are 13/2 to win the URC title with WSB.

Lions:

The Lions went down 20-17 away to play off rivals Cardiff last weekend to slip out of the top 8 in the standings. They had opportunities to win the game but were also guilty of a number of errors.

The Lions are now 13th in a congested mid table section of the standings. They have 6 wins and 7 defeats against their name and they are 3 points behind 8th position which is currently held by the Stormers.

In one earlier match against Scottish opposition the Lions beat Edinburgh 55-21 in a Round 3 home game.

After this the Lions are in the Challenge Cup Ro16 action where they will visit Edinburgh. They finish up the URC regular season with 4 consecutive home games against Benetton, Connacht, the Scarlets and the Ospreys.

In the outright betting the Lions are 66/1 shots to win the URC title with WSB.

Betting Angle

This handicap opened -12.5 and has shifted to -13.5 where it has settled ahead of team selections where the return of Scottish Internationals is expected.

It should be a good game to watch and I will wait for team news and points markets before getting involved.

Bets on all URC games will be posted in the URC BLOG
