Race 1

SIMPLY MAJESTIC showed good speed when winning the Grade 3 TAB Pretty Polly Stakes over 1100m last time. She finished 0.5 lengths behind DANTONFROMSANDTON in her penultimate run. She is 1kg better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The daughter of Canford Cliffs should be hard to peg back.

DANTONFROMSANDTON is better than his last two starts in feature races. He won his maiden at the second time of asking over this C&D. The blinkers remain fitted and he can go close.

KING OF KILDARE’S last start must be ignored as he was reported to have choked up. His first two career outings were encouraging. He shows good speed and with Richard Fourie in the saddle, he cannot be ignored.

Race 2

MISS SCALETTA is better than her last start against older company as she was reported to be not striding out. She was an impressive winner on debut over 1200m on the Inside course. The daughter of William Longsword is back against her own age group and with Philasande Mxoli back in the saddle, she may be the one to side with.

ZIP CODE set the pace and found extra where it matters most to win his maiden over 1400m on this course. The son of Global View is a progressive type and may be hard to peg back.

PANNING GOLD raced from a handy position over this distance on the Inside course last time but was touched off by Gimmeachoice. Richard Fourie is booked to ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.

Race 3

ROSSORE FINALE raced from a handy position over 1600m last time, but found one too good in the form of Battleofbarberton. He finished second in his only attempt over this C&D. Piere Strydom is booked to ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.

FINAL TRY’S last two starts have been fair. The manner in which he has finished off his races suggests that he will love the rise to 1400m. The son of What A Winter has scope and may have more to come.

ORANJEMUND is an unraced son of Querari from the Tony Peter stable with Calvin Habib in the saddle. If not too green, he should start his career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to his chances.

Race 4

KYLIE’S ANGEL has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. She was reported to be not striding out when third in her last start over 1450m on the Inside course. The daughter of Vercingetorix is having her peak run today and from her good draw of four, she can shed her maiden tag.

QUEEN OF LOVE was disappointing in her last start over 1600m. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. She produced an encouraging debut effort over this C&D and if finding the form of that race, she should pose a threat.

RAINBOW RIVER was her own worst enemy over 1600m last time as she over raced in the early stages. She would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. With a bit of luck from the widest draw, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 5

THE AFRICA HOUSE stayed on when third over 1450m on the Vaal Classic course last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. The son of What A Winter is the best-weighted runner in this contest and he can notch up his second-career victory.

WYZEACT finished 1.5 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result.

RICHARD THE FIRST was given a perfect ride when winning his last start over 1200m at the Vaal. He should have no issues with the rise to 1400m. He is in a good space and must be included in all bets.

Race 6

RAINBOW REWARD finished 1 length behind DREAMLAND last time. He is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He has won once and finished second once from three starts over this C&D. His last victory came under Nathan Klink and the combination may find themselves in the winner’s enclosure.

DREAMLAND is a winner of his last three starts. He has won once and finished second once from as many starts over this distance. Richard Fourie retains the ride and he should go close.

KARANGETANG is better than his last start as he was reported to be fatigued post- race. He is having his peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. On best form shown, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 7

GEORGE HANDEL is better than his last start in the Grade 1 TAB SA Derby as he raced wide around the turn and was reported to be not striding out. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. He drops in class and on best form shown, he can return to winning ways.

THE BRIEF finished 0.9 lengths behind MASTER ARIANO last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He jumps from a good draw of four and is a threat.

MASTER ARIANO followed up his maiden win with a good victory over 1800m on the Inside course. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. He is in a good space and can notch up the hat-trick.

Race 8

POCKET WATCH was slow into stride over 1400m last time and ran on well to finish fourth. It is encouraging that Gavin Lerena is booked to ride and he may be able to get the best out of him where it matters most. He jumps from pole position and if jumping on terms, he can return to winning ways.

BOB’S YOUR UNCLE set the pace over 1450m last time, but was caught late by The Playboy Bomber. Richard Fourie is booked to ride and should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

NORDIC REBEL fought hard for his last victory over this distance at the Vaal. Gavin Lerena has opted to ride the top choice but the 10yo gelding is in a good space and cannot be ignored.
