Race 1
MISS MUNROE ran a good race when third over this distance on the Vaal Classic course, before given a lengthy 44-week break. She would have strengthened up during her time off the track. Capable work rider Chamu Mabaya retains the ride and if not in need of the outing, she may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.
HOTARU ran on strongly when second over 1200m at the Vaal last time. The drop to 1000m is a slight concern but she has scope, and should feature. She is carded to race on 19 June 2025 and her progress in that race will need to be monitored.
DESERT CLOUD is better than her last two starts as she was reported to be not striding out. She showed promise in her first two career outings. If the stable have got on top of her issues, she would not be a shock winner.
Race 2
TRAJANUS produced an encouraging debut effort over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. He was carded to race on 08 June 2025, but was unsettled as the starter opened the gates and he was declared a non-runner. The son of Danon Platina could be anything and if behaving himself in the starting stalls, he should be the horse to beat.
BINGO found one too good in the form of Gimmeforsure last time. He was reported to have cast a shoe in running that day. He is drawn on the outside of the course, and should be competitive.
ALPINE JET is an unraced daughter of Vercingetorix from the Johan Janse van Vuuren stable with Gavin Lerena in the saddle. She is related to multiple winners including Dontshootthebarman and Tawny Jet. If not in need of the outing, she should start her career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to her chances.
Race 3
SNOW QUEEN showed good improvement when fourth over this C&D last time. She showed speed before getting outrun late. It must be noted that Versace Onthetrack and the third horse have come out and won since. The daughter of What A Winter is a progressive type and she may be the one to beat.
JAZZ PIANIST has finished third in both her efforts to date. She raced from a prominent position over 1160m last time and stayed on at the finish. She drops back to 1000m and with Gavin Lerena in the saddle, she should pose a threat.
The jockey reported something to be amiss with BLUSHING BLOOM on debut. The daughter of Flower Alley would have come on from the run and she should make the natural improvement.
Race 4
GOLDEN OPERATOR ran a cracker on debut over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Greyville. He was green in running that day which may have cost him the victory. Craig Zackey was dislodged just after the line on that occasion. It must be noted that the form has been franked. The son of Declarationofpeace would have gained from the experience and if not too green on this track, he should take a power of beating.
TRIP TO PEACE is an unraced son of Declarationofpeace from the Corrie Lensley stable with Gavin Lerena in the saddle. If not in need of the run, he should start his career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to him and the other first timers.
SALT LAKE CITY is a daughter of Potala Palace from the Tony Peter stable with Callan Murray up. If not too green in running, she should give a good account of herself.
Race 5
MAMLAMBO caught the eye when second on debut over 1160m on this course. She took time to find her feet, but finished off her race strongly. The daughter of Canford Cliffs would have gained from the experience and should love the rise to 1400m. She is likely to be settled near the rear of the field from the widest draw, and will be mowing down the frontrunners.
JAPANESE GARDEN was her own worst enemy last time as she over raced in the early stages. On previous form, she should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.
STAMPEDE AHEAD is an unraced daughter of Futura from the Mike and Adam Azzie stable with S’manga Khumalo in the saddle. She is related to four-time winner Ready To Charge. If not in need of the run, she should give a good account of herself. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to her chances.
Race 6
KING‘S EXPRESS is a winner of his last two starts over 1800m. The son of Pomodoro returns from a well- deserved 10-week break. He is a horse with some class about him and if not in need of the run, he can bring up the hat-trick.
HAWKBILL showed some signs of a form return in his last start over 1800m on this course. He stayed on at the finish but found one too good in the form of Count Huhtikuu. If repeating that effort, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.
LA MOOHAL is better than his last start in the Grade 3 4Racing Jubilee Stakes. He has won twice, finished second twice and third once from eight starts on this course. With Gavin Lerena in the saddle, he cannot be ignored.
Race 7
ALADDIN‘S LAMP was given a peach of a ride when winning his last start over this distance at the Vaal. He finished second in his penultimate run on this course. Callan Murray retains the ride, and he can follow up with another victory.
SALUTE THE FLAG stayed on when third over 1600m on this course last time. The son of Flying The Flag steps up to 2000m and with Piere Strydom retaining the ride, he should pose a massive threat.

Race 8
DIMAKO‘S JET finished 2.15 lengths behind FREE IN SEATTLE last time. She is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish. She has won once, finished second twice and third once from six starts over this distance. She jumps from a good draw of three and may be the horse to side with.
FREE IN SEATTLE fought hard for her last victory over 2000m on the Vaal Classic course. She finished second in her only attempt over this C&D. She is carded to race on 19 June 2025 and her progress in that race will need to be monitored.
MOUNT ETNA ran on strongly when third over 1600m at the Vaal last time. She is likely to be settled near the rear of the field and will be mowing down the frontrunners.
