RACE 1

CASINO KING hails from the visiting Justin Snaith stable. He was a tad disappointing in his last start over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. His penultimate run when fourth over this distance, catches the eye. Muzi Yeni rides and in this field, he can shed his maiden tag. 

BUFFALO BILL produced a promising debut effort over 1200m on this course. The manner in which he finished off his race that day was encouraging. The drop to 1000m is a slight concern, but with the natural improvement that is expected, he should go close. 

SOMBREUIL showed good improvement when second over this C&D last time. She raced on the pace but found one too good in the form of North Star. The daughter of What A Winter is a progressive type and she should give the males a run for their money. 

RACE 2

SILVAN MISTRESS stayed on at the finish after losing two lengths leaving the start last time. Her best career effort has come on this course. The daughter of Master Of My Fate will be ideally suited to this distance and if jumping on terms, she may find herself in the winner’s enclosure. 

ZENA‘S ACT showed some improvement over this distance on the Hollywoodbets Kenilworth Winter course last time. The daughter of Act Of War is a progressive type and if Muzi Yeni is able to switch her off early, she may have more to come. 

DARLINGBUDSOFMAY finished 2.25 lengths behind the top selection last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result. 

RACE 3

EXALTED LOVE should have finished closer to the winner over 1600m last time as he was switched for running room at the 100m mark. He gets the blinkers fitted today which should keep his mind on the task at hand. He jumps from pole position and if all went well with his travels, he may be the one to side with. 

GOLDEN GREY has been costly to follow since arriving in the Eastern Cape. He was his own worst enemy last time as he over raced in the early stages. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces. 

AMERICAN MATADOR had excuses when 4.25 lengths behind the second selection last time. He finished second in his only attempt over this C&D. The son of The United States should earn another cheque for his patrons.

RACE 4

YOU‘RE SO SPECIAL is the best bet on the programme. She has produced two good second place finishes to date. She showed good speed over this C&D last time, fought hard but found one too good in the form of Star Of Elena. The booking of Andrew Fortune is a big plus and she should take a power of beating. 

RING A LING is better than her last start as she was reported to be not striding out. She returns from a 22-week break, during which time she changed stables. The daughter of Futura has scope and there should be good improvement to come. 

LADY BOMBER returns from a 22-week break and is having her first run for Tara Laing. The drop to 1200m may suit her well and she can show good improvement.

 

 

RACE 5

BEECHAMWOOD BOY produced a good local debut when second over 1200m on this course. The manner in which he finished off his race that day was encouraging. The 6yo gelding would have come on from the run and with Richard Fourie in the saddle, he can go one better. 

CROWNED HORNBILL followed up his maiden win with a good victory over this distance at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. It must be noted that the horse that finished second has come out and won since. He is having his first run for Cliffie Miller and if settled into his new surroundings, he can bring up the hat-trick. 

SWISS WALT was touched off in his last start over 1300m on the polytrack. It must be noted that Sharapova has come out and won again since. Sean Veale may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most. 

Race 6

GIMME‘S LASSIE is in good form heading into this contest. She rallied late when second in the Listed Milkwood Stakes last time. She has won once and finished second once from four starts over this C&D. Craig Zackey steps back into the saddle and she can notch up her fifth-career victory. 

SPLICETHEMAINBRACE was not disgraced when third in the Listed Bryanston Auctioneers East Cape Guineas last time. She returns from a well-deserved 13-week break which would have done her the world of good. She is unbeaten from two starts over this C&D and will be looking to keep that record intact. 

SONG OF MYSELF won a good race in her local debut over this C&D. It is encouraging that Sean Veale has made the trip to ride her. She takes a rise in class but should be up to the task at hand. 

RACE 7

WALKONTHEWILDSIDE ran a good race in her comeback effort over this C&D, against male company. She would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight is back against her own sex and she may be the one to beat. 

ENCHANTING CHOICE is having her first run for the Alan Greeff stable. She was running on when third over this distance at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. If settled into her new surroundings, she should be involved at the finish. 

ROSE OF BAYEUX finished 0.75 lengths behind the top choice last time. She is 1kg better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish. 

RACE 8

GREEN MANDARIN should have finished closer to the winner in his stable debut over 1600m on this course, as he had no luck in the straight. He would have come on from the run and will love the rise to 1800m. He does have a wide draw to contend with, but Andrew Fortune should give him all the necessary assistance from the saddle. 

JUAN CARLOS was an easy winner of his last start over 2000m on this course. He received a five-pound penalty for that victory. The 7yo gelding is in a good space and can follow up with another victory. 

MASTER FORESTER is better than his last start in the Listed WSB East Cape Derby. He drops back in distance and on previous form, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest
