DREAM SEARCHER challenged strongly over 1400m last time, but was outrun late. With a bit of luck from her wide draw, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest. 

Race 3

SAIL THE SEAS ran on powerfully when winning his last start over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Durbanville. The son of Vercingetorix will love the rise to 1600m. He meets a similar line-up this afternoon. He is likely to be settled near the rear of the field from his wide draw and will be mowing down the frontrunners.

 HOODIA has shown good improvement in his last two starts. He is having his peak run today and will be cherry-ripe. He jumps from a handy draw of five and is one of the leading contenders. 

MASTER OF PARIS finished 2 lengths behind the second selection last time. He is 1kg better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result. He has won once and finished third twice from four starts over this C&D. If switching off early, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest. 

Race 4

This is a competitive Cape B Stakes field and caution is advised. The tentative first selection is NIGHT BOMBER from the Brett Crawford stable. He ran a good race when third over 1250m at Hollywoodbets Durbanville last time. Two of his three career victories have come on this course. With a bit of luck in running, he may be the one to beat. 

BLACK EGRET finished 3.4 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and may battle to turn the form around. 

WALK WITH ME was given a peach of a ride when winning his last start over 1200m at Fairview. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. He does take on stronger, but carries a handy galloping mass of 54kgs and can bring up the hat-trick.

CALL TO UNITE was an easy winner of the Listed Settlers Trophy last time. He raced from a handy position, quickened up well and drew clear of the opposition. The son of Vercingetorix should have no issues with the rise to 2500m. He carries a handy galloping mass of 52kgs and can bring up the hat- trick. 

FUTURE SWING finished 1.75 lengths behind BARATHEON last time. He is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He is a solid back-up for the Justin Snaith stable. 

BARATHEON is a winner of his last two starts, the latest of which was over 1800m at Hollywoodbets Durbanville. He has no stamina issues and merits healthy respect.

 

 

Race 6

WINTER RAINFALL ran a fair race when sixth over 1250m at Hollywoodbets Durbanville last time. She finished 0.2 lengths behind SOUTHERN SKIES in her penultimate run. She is 3kgs better off at the weights today which is enough for the tables to be turned. She is having her peak run today and may be the one to cause the upset. 

SOUTHERN SKIES is a winner of her last three starts. She has won once and finished second twice from as many starts on this course. Richard Fourie knows her well and the pair merit healthy respect. 

NORDIC QUEST has won her last two starts with ease. Aldo Domeyer retains the ride and she should notch up the hat-trick. 

Race 7

GIMMIE‘S COUNTESS quickened up well when winning the Grade 3 Baker McVeigh Diana Stakes last time. She would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight is likely to be settled near the rear of the field from the widest draw and she will be mowing down the frontrunners. 

SYMPHONY IN WHITE stayed on when third over 1250m at Hollywoodbets Durbanville last time. The daughter of What A Winter will love the rise to 1400m. She has cracked a good draw of three and should have first run on the top choice. 

MAI SENSATION finished 0.5 lengths behind BEWARE THE BOMB last time. She is 2kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. 

Race 8

SCARLET MACAW has produced two good runs since winning her maiden over 1250m at Hollywoodbets Durbanville. She stayed on strongly when third over this distance at Hollywoodbets Durbanville last time. The daughter of Horizon should be the horse to beat. 

SWIATEK was a shock winner on debut over 1250m at Hollywoodbets Durbanville. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. The daughter of Pomodoro could be anything and may remain unbeaten from pole position.

MONUMENTAL‘S last two starts have been decent. He should have finished closer to the winner last time as he was held up for a run at the 150m mark. With a bit of luck in running, he should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.

TWENTYTWENTYVISION followed up his maiden win with a hard-fought victory over 1250m at Hollywoodbets Durbanville. He is in a good space and can notch up the hat-trick.

Race 10

CHAMPAGNE MAC finished 0.3 lengths behind PRINCE OF TIBET last time. He is 1kg better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He gets the blinkers fitted which should keep his mind on the task at hand. With a bit of luck from the widest draw, he should go one better. 

PRINCE OF TIBET found betting support when winning his last start over 1250m at Hollywoodbets Durbanville. JP van der Merwe retains the ride and if confirming his recent improvement, he should be competitive.
