EDGE OF TOMORROW has shown good improvement in each of her outings to date. She showed pace over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time and stayed on to finish third. The daughter of Master Of My Fate tries the blinkers for the first time which should keep her mind on the task at hand. She is a progressive type and may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.
SWEET JULIA’S last three starts have been good. She has finished second twice from as many starts over this C&D. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.
DASHING DUCHESS showed improvement in her last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. If not too green around the turn, she should have more to come.
Race 2
FACILE produced a fair debut effort over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. She lost a length leaving the start but stayed on to finish fourth. The daughter of Vercingetorix would have gained from the experience. With the natural improvement that is expected, she may be the one to side with.
GRAND OCCASION took on winners in her last start over 1200m. Her first two career outings were encouraging. The daughter of Danon Platina should love the rise to 1400m and with a bit of luck in running, she should have improvement to come.
AN AIR OF PRIDE has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. She is having her peak run today and will be cherry-ripe. If keeping on a straight line, she should be competitive.
Race 3
PALERMO ran a very good race when taking on winners over 1600m on this course last time. He challenged strongly all the way to the line but found one too good in the form of Imaginable. The son of Vercingetorix should have no issues with the rise to 1700m and back in Maiden Company, he should take a power of beating.
ROMAN’S REVENGE showed good improvement in his last start over 1400m, against winners. The son of Fire Away should love the rise in distance and it is encouraging that Richard Fourie is booked to ride. He may have more to come.
NOBLE WARRIOR showed good improvement in his last start over this C&D. He raced from a handy position, but found one too good in the form of Ibiza Night. With a bit of luck from the widest draw, he can earn another cheque for his patrons
Race 4
TOP TEN showed good signs of a form return in her last start over this C&D. The manner in which she stayed on at the finish that day was encouraging. The blinkers seem to have done the trick. She is drawn widest of all but gets the services of Richard Fourie who will give her all the necessary assistance from the saddle.
WHATSUPBUTTACUP won a good race in her last start over 2000m on this course. She received a four-pound penalty for that victory. If confirming her recent improvement, she should pose a threat.
BURMESE TIARA is much better than her last start on the turf. She won a good race in her penultimate run over 1950m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. She has cracked a good draw of three and if putting her best foot forward, she should feature.
Race 5
DIANI is better than his last start in a Pinnacle Stakes race. He will enjoy the return to the polytrack as he has won twice and finished second twice from nine starts on this course. He returns to Handicap Company and despite his big mass of 62kgs, he can notch up his sixth-career victory.
B FIFTYTWO was a tad disappointing in his last start over this distance on the turf. He won a good race in his penultimate start over this C&D. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.
USA’S HOPE is better than his last two starts in the Western Cape. He returns from a 13-week break which would have done him the world of good. The son of The United States will be mowing down the frontrunners.
Race 6
MR MASTER STARTER lost a length leaving the start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time, but finished off his race strongly. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He has won once and finished third twice from as many starts over this C&D. He is the stable elect with Craig Zackey up and can return to winning ways.
NELSON BAY finished 1.4 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result.
BEECHAMWOOD BOY ran a fair race over 1200m last time. He has won twice, finished second twice and third three times from eleven starts on this course. On best form shown, he should be competitive.
Race 7
IMPERIOUS DESTINY was given a peach of a ride when winning her last start over this C&D. She set the pace and held on where it matters most. The daughter of Visionaire meets a similar line-up and she may be hard to peg back.
VIHAAN’S QUEEN followed up her maiden victory with a good fourth-place finish over 1400m on this course. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. The daughter of Erupt merits healthy respect.
KISSHOTEN ran on strongly when third in her last start over 1400m on the turf. She should love the rise to the mile and if not in need of the run, she should be competitive.
Race 8
Trainer Paul Lafferty holds a strong hand in this contest and he can saddle the first two past the post. RELEASE ME won a game race in his last start over 1400m on this course. He received a two-pound penalty for that victory. Muzi Yeni retains the ride and the combination may find themselves in the winner’s enclosure.
ACTION STATIONS ran a good race when second in his last start over this C&D. He has won twice and finished second three times from ten starts over this C&D. 4kgs claiming apprentice Brevan Plaatjies retains the ride and the pair merit healthy respect.
ALLAROUNDTHEWORLD is better than his last start over 1900m. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. On his previous form, he cannot be ignored
