Race 1

AND ACTION ran a good race when third in his last start over this distance on the Turffontein Inside course. Despite jumping inwards when leaving the start, he set the pace before getting outrun late. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. If all went well with his travels, he can win a race of this nature.

DOIN’ TIME raced from a handy position over this C&D last time but found one too good in the form of Knockemstiff. Richard Fourie retains the ride and he is one of the leading contenders.

BREGARDT should have finished closer to the winner last time as he hung outwards in the final 200m. He steps up to 1200m and if keeping on a straight line, he should be right there at the finish.

Race 2

JP TWO THOUSAND has fair recent form lines to his name. He jumped awkwardly last time but stayed on at the business end. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. He has finished second twice from as many starts over this C&D. S’manga Khumalo is booked to ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.

NAZARE won a good race in his last start over 1200m on the Turffontein Inside course. He received a three-pound penalty for that victory. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

WAVE WARRIOR finished 1.6 lengths behind IMAGINABLE, last week Wednesday. He is 3kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned.

Race 3

LADIES WORLD is a progressive type who has shown improvement in her last two starts. She was not disgraced when facing males and winners in her last outing over 1400m on the turf. The daughter of One World should have no issues with the rise to the mile. She does have an awkward draw of eight but gets the services of Richard Fourie who will give her all the necessary assistance from the saddle.

NAUTICAL LANDING’S last two starts have been good. She raced from a handy position over 1400m last time and stayed on to finish third. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.

CITY LIGHTS has consistent form lines to her name. She stayed on when third over this distance on the Turffontein Inside course last time. Her penultimate run when second on this course was encouraging. The daughter of Pomodoro merits obvious inclusion.

Race 4

INCREDIBLE INDRANI is lightly raced with good form lines to her credit. She set the pace over 1800m on the Vaal Classic course last time, but was outrun late. The daughter of Global View carries a nice weight of 55.5kgs and if seeing out the 2000m, she should be hard to peg back.

CODE OF CONDUCT’S last two starts have been fair. The manner in which he finished off his last outing suggests that he will love the rise to 2000m. With luck in running, he should pose a threat.

IRON MONGER has decent recent form lines to his credit. He may be at his best on the turf but with Richard Fourie in the saddle, he cannot be ignored.

Race 5

ANCIENT WORLD has good recent form lines to his credit. He was not disgraced when fourth over this distance on the turf last time. He has won once, finished second once and third once from four starts on this course. He is likely to have his own way in front and should take a power of beating.

PAS DE NOM stayed on strongly when second over 1600m on this course last time. He would have come on from the outing and should strip much fitter. The son of Rafeef will be mowing down the frontrunners.

PLAYER won a good race in his last start over 1700m on the Turffontein Inside course. The 5yo gelding won his only attempt on this course. Muzi Yeni retains the ride and the pair merit healthy respect.

Race 6

GRECIAN PALACE showed good signs of a form return in her last start over this C&D. She raced from a handy position and stayed on to finish third. The daughter of Potala Palace takes a drop in class and if confirming her recent improvement, she should be involved at the finish.

LIGHT OF DAY fought hard in her last start, but found one too good in the form of Reckless Love. She has won twice and finished second three times from nine starts over this distance. Apprentice Brevan Plaatjies takes the 4kgs off her back and with luck in running, she should be competitive.

BUSHVELD ran a decent race in her last start over this distance on the Turffontein Inside course. It is encouraging that S’manga Khumalo is booked to ride and from pole position, she can earn a cheque.

Race 7

VISION TO ACHIEVE ran a decent race in her last start, despite reported to be not striding out. She has won once and finished third twice from four starts on this course. The daughter of Vercingetorix takes a slight drop in class and may be hard to peg back.

NOBLE STORM finished third in her last start over this C&D. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. With luck in running, she should go close to winning.

RUGGER LOVER has finished second in her last three starts. She was running on too late from the widest draw over 1000m last time. She has cracked a good draw of three and merits obvious inclusion.

Race 8

MOYA WA LALIGA was running on too late when third over 1400m on this course last time. He will enjoy the drop to 1200m as all three of his victories have come over this distance. If not too far out of his ground turning for home, he can notch up his fourth-career victory.

JOHN WICK tried hard when third over this distance on the Turffontein Inside course last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. If confirming his recent improvement, he should pose a threat.

GORGEOUS GUY followed up his maiden win with a good third-place finish. It must be noted that the form of that race has worked out well. With luck in running, he should be right there at the finish
