In the pool stage Lyon won 3 and lost 1 of their matches. They started with a 37-26 home win over Cardiff and followed up with a 21-19 victory over Zebre in Parma. Their only defeat came away at Connacht (52-24) and in their final pool game they thrashed the Cheetahs at this stadium, 68-21.
In the Top 14 Lyon are in seventh place with a record of 9 wins 2 draws and 9 defeats.
Sharks:
The Sharks are the Challenge Cup holders and after failing to make it through to the Champions Cup play offs they get the opportunity to defend their title. They took on Exeter Chiefs in Durban in their opening pool match and came through with a 39-21 victory. In their second outing, a tough visit to Leicester Tigers, they were soundly beaten, 56-17 and they also went down 20-8 to Stade Toulouse in Durban in Round 3. The Sharks crashed to a 66-12 defeat away to Bordeaux in their final pool match to finish fifth in the pool standings.
In the URC the Sharks are in fourth position with a record of 9 wins and 5 defeats and last week they were beaten 10-7 at home to Leinster.
