Chelsea 38/10 Draw 34/10 PSG 6/10

New signing Joao Pedro scored both of Chelsea's goals in their 2-0 semi final win over Fluminense on Tuesday to put his side in the final. Chelsea also saw of Palmeiras 2-1 in their quarter final whilst their Round of 16 clash with Benfica went to extra time after a 1-1 draw. Chelsea cut loose in the extra 30 minutes with goals from Nkunku, Neto and Dewsbury-Hall giving them a 4-1 win on the night.

Chelsea were runners up to Flamengo in Group D. It wasn't all plain sailing with a 2-1 defeat to the group winners in their second outing coming either side of a 2-0 win over Los Angeles and a 3-0 victory over Esperance.

PSG's route to the final has looked far tougher than Chelsea's but their semi final match up with Real Madrid proved to be a one sided affair. PSG were 3-0 up in 24 minutes including a brace from Fabian Ruiz and they added a fourth near the end of the match for a 4-0 victory. PSG also came up against another of the tournaments big guns in the shape of Bayern Munich in the quarter finals and late goals gave them a 2-0 win. The Ro16 saw PSG complete a 4-0 victory over Inter Miami.

PSG topped Group B with 6 points ahead of Botofgao on goal difference. Atletico Madrid also finished on 6 points but missed out and Seattle Sounders never landed a blow. The UCL winners put an early marker down with a 4-0 win over Atletico but then came unstuck with a 1-0 defeat to Botafogo, the only goal they have conceded in the tournament so far. Normal service was resumed with a 2-0 win over Seattle Sounders in their final group match.

The Verdict:

Chelsea have done well and will benefit from their new players getting some game time when the EPL season kicks off but to me they are up against here. That said there is little in the betting markets that stand out, I'll look for a yellow card contender and Moises Caciedo fits the bill.

Bets: Player to be shown a card Moises Caciedo at 1.45/1 with Sportingbet
