Winning Form selections for racing from the Vaal on Tuesday 26th August where there are huge prizes available in the free to enter @Hollywoodbets Punters Challenge
Race 1
FRERE JACQUES showed signs of needing his comeback run over 1400m on this course. He finished 2.6 lengths behind BEACH WALKER that day and is 4kgs better off at the weights. That should be enough for the tables to be turned. The son of Louis The King gets the cheekpieces and tongue-tie fitted. He will strip a much fitter horse and may be the one to side with.
BEACH WALKER showed good improvement over 1400m at the Vaal last time. He challenged strongly but found one too good in the form of Palace Attack. If confirming his recent improvement, he should be involved at the finish.
OLYMPIAN GOLD showed massive improvement when second over this C&D last time. He was running on at the finish that day. The son of Potala Palace is a progressive type and should have a say in the outcome of this contest.
Race 2
CARNARVON has decent recent form lines to his credit. He stayed on when fourth over this distance on the Hollywoodbets Greyville polytrack last time. The son of Elusive Fort meets the right field and he should find himself in the winner’s enclosure.
CAPTAIN FRANK is better than his last start as he was reported to be not striding out. His penultimate outing when fourth on this course was fair. The son of One World has scope and can show good improvement in this line-up.
KING BLUETOOTH‘S last two starts have been moderate. He drops to 1200m and carries a handy galloping mass of 54kgs. The son of Erik The Red can show improvement to feature.
Race 3
EMPRESS WU is still a maiden after 15 starts but she has consistent form lines to her credit. She has finished second once and third three times from six starts over this distance. The daughter of Global View meets the right field and she may be the one to beat. She is carded to race on 23 August 2025 and her progress in that race will need to be monitored.
CONCORDIA has fair recent form lines to her name. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.
SMART STAR ran a fair race when fifth over 1000m on this course last time. The daughter of Captain Of All steps up to 1200m and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, she can finish in the placings.
Race 4
EMBER KING has shown good improvement in his last two starts. He finished third over 1500m on the Classic course last time. The son of Act Of War tries the 2000m for the first time and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, he can go close in this field.
HEROIC ACT is still a maiden after 18 starts. He finished third in his only attempt over this C&D. On best form shown, he should be involved in the fight to the finish.
INCLUSION returns from a 19-week break. His penultimate run when fourth over 1400m was encouraging. If not in need of the outing, he should run a positive race.
Race 5
GIMMEACHOICE finished 0.25 lengths behind GUY ALEXANDER last time. He is 4.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He is having his peak run today and will be cherry-ripe. The tongue-tie has been fitted which may do the trick. He is likely to be settled near the rear of the field and will be mowing down the frontrunners.
BANHA BRIDGE has fair consistent form lines to his credit. It must be noted that the horse that finished second in his last outing has come out and won since. He is likely to race on the speed and may be hard to peg back.
TRIDENT KING finished 0.65 lengths behind GUY ALEXANDER in the race referred to above. He is also 4.5kgs better off at the weights today and should turn the form around.
Race 6
BOSUM BUDDY is better than her last two starts. She was reported to be coughing in her last outing and was reported to be not striding out in her penultimate outing. She has won once and finished third three times from five starts over this distance. Apprentice Trent Mayhew takes the 1.5kgs off her back and on best form shown, she can return to winning ways in this field.
XENOPHON was an easy winner when shedding his maiden tag over this distance on the Classic course last time. The son of Vercingetorix takes on stronger, but he has plenty of scope and should be up to the task at hand.
BOURBON RESERVE‘S last two starts have been fair. He has won once and finished second once from as many starts on this course. The son of What A Winter is carded to race on 23 August 2025 and his progress in that race will need to be monitored.
Race 7
PALACE PRINCE is lightly raced with some good form lines to his name. He was not beaten far over 1450m on the Classic course last time. It must be noted that After Hours has come out and won again since. If jumping on terms, he should be too good for this field.
JET CAT got up late when winning over this C&D last time. He returns from a well-deserved 10-week break. The son of Trippi meets a similar field and if not in need of the run, he can follow up.
BEAMONESQUE returns from a 22-week break which may have done him the world of good. The son of Rafeef has dropped in the ratings and can show good improvement on his return.
Race 8
ZOOMBOMBER showed some signs of needing his comeback run over 1450m on the Classic course. He has won once, finished second twice and third once from seven starts over this distance. The son of Lancaster Bomber will strip much fitter and he may be hard to peg back.
AFTER HOURS is a winner of his last two starts, the latest of which was over this distance at Turffontein. He is versatile and can bring up the hat-trick.
COMMANDER OF ALL finished 2.05 lengths behind the second choice last time. He is 2kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result
