Stormers:
After returning from a 3 match tour with 1 win and 2 defeats the Stormers went into the Round 5 clash with Munster in Cape Town at the bottom of the standings. They started the game as favourites in the region of 6.5 points and they found daylight on the scoreboard in the later stages to come out on top 34-19, scoring 4 tries to 3.
In Round 4 the Stormers were thumped 38-7 in Edinburgh and their only other win so far came in Parma (35-6) against Zebre in Round 3. In their first action of the season they went down 37-24 to the Ospreys in Round 2.
The first of last season's head to heads came in Glasgow in Round 3 and the Warriors beat the Stormers 20-9. The teams met again in Glasgow in the first round of the play offs and the Warriors won 27-10 and they went on to beat the Bulls 21-16 in the final at Loftus.
The Stormers finished the previous round in twelfth position with 10 log points and they have a game in hand on the European sides. In the outright betting to win the URC title the Stormers are 18.5/1 with BoyleSports.
Glasgow Warriors:
The Warriors were in Durban to take on the Sharks last week, they were given around 8.5 points start on the bookmakers main handicap line which proved to be pretty accurate as the Sharks came through as winners, 28-22. A couple of late Warriors tries saw the defending champions pick up 2 bonus points.
In earlier results the Warriors were edged out 20-19 away to Ulster in the opening round but they bounced back with wins at home to Benetton (42-10), away to Cardiff (52-36) and Zebre (33-3) in Glasgow.
The Warriors have now played 5 matches so far, winning 3 and losing 2 and they finished Round 5 in third position with 18 log points, level with the Lions and 7 adrift of Leinster who set the pace.
In the outright betting the Warriors are 11/1 shots to win the URC title with BoyleSports

Betting Angle

The teams have been named and the handicap is moving in Glasgow’s direction with -5.5 Stormers at some bookmakers although there is still +7.5 Glasgow on offer if you shop around.
My view was always to back Glasgow outright if they named a strong team as I was impressed with them last week against a loaded Sharks side.
The Stormers have yet to impress me this season and I am backing the Champions to win.
No points lines up locally at the time of posting but I will add any additional plays to the rugby forum thread as well as this preview.
