Goodforthegame Predictions:

Southampton v Bournemouth

Week 6 begins with a local derby between two teams who are side by side in mid table with 7 points from 5 matches. Southampton's 2 wins came away from home, another derby at Brighton (2-0) and most recently at Sheffield United (1-0). Home games have seen the Saints lose 2-1 to Liverpool and draw 1-1 with Manchester United.

Bournemouth were 3-1 winners at home to Everton last week and their other victory came away at Aston Villa (2-1). They have found the net in every match so far but have yet to keep a clean sheet.

Of the last 5 meetings between these sides 4 have ended all square including a 3-3 draw in this fixture last season. Another score draw could be the way to go here.

Prediction: Southampton 1-1 Bournemouth

Leicester v Spurs

Leicester were beaten for the first time this season when they went down 1-0 at Old Trafford last weekend. They started with two draws; at home to Wolves (0-0) and away at Chelsea (1-1) before a 2-1 win at Sheffield United and 3-1 victory at home to Bournemouth.

Spurs have been inconsistent this season but they hit top gear last weekend with a 4-0 demolition of Crystal Palace to join Leicester on 8 points. In midweek they let a 2-0 lead slip in the Champions League at Olimpiakos and that was also the case in the recent North London derby away to Arsenal, a game which also finished 2-2. In earlier results Spurs lost 1-0 at home to Newcastle and drew 2-2 away to Manchester City whilst on Matchday 1 they came from behind to see off Aston Villa 3-1 in a home fixture.

Spurs completed the double over Leicester last season including a 2-0 win away from home. They should find Leicester a tougher proposition this time around and this is another game where goals look on the cards but a winner is hard to name.

Prediction: Leicester 2-2 Spurs

Everton v Sheffield United

Everton are in mid table with 7 points, 6 of which were earned at Goodison where they have beaten Watford (1-0) and Wolves (3-2). Sheffield have 5 points to show for their efforts so far and they have drawn both their away fixtures, 1-1 at Bournemouth and 2-2 at Chelsea where they fought back from 2-0 down. The Blades will fight all the way but Everton get the vote to edge it.

Prediction: Everton 2-1 Sheffield United

West Ham v Man Uniited

Since losing 5-0 at home to Manchester City on the opening weekend West Ham are unbeaten in their last 4 and last time out they played out a 0-0 draw at Villa. Prior to that they won 3-1 at Watford and 2-0 at home to Norwich and they look in good shape right now.

United's 1-0 home win over Leicester last week moved them on to 8 points, ahead of West Ham on goal difference. Away from home this season they have played out 1-1 draws at Wolves and Southampton.

West Ham won this fixture 3-1 last season and the return at Old Trafford saw United win 2-1. United are another side who have lacked consistency and this is another game where the draw looks to be a runner.

Prediction: West Ham 1-1 Man United

Chelsea v Liverpool

Chelsea moved up to 8 points with a 5-2 thrashing of Wolves away from home last weekend. They are still looking for a first home win of the season having played out draws against Leicester (1-1) and Sheffield United (2-2) and in midweek they lost 1-0 at home to Valencia in the Champions League. Chelsea's only match against the so called Big 6 this season saw them go down 4-0 to Manchester United at Old Trafford on the opening weekend.

Liverpool also lost in the the Champions League in midweek, 2-0 at Napoli. However their Premier League record is of the 100% variety and last week's 3-1 home win over Newcastle stretched their lead at the top of the log to 5 points. Away from home they have won 3-0 at Burnley and 2-1 at Southampton and that victory at Burnley is their only clean sheet so far.

These teams met in the Super Cup at the start of the season and Liverpool won on penalty kicks after the game finished in a 2-2 draw after extra time. Last season's Premier League clash at Stamford Bridge finished 1-1 and Liverpool won the return at Anfield 2-0.

Liverpool's league form is hard to argue with and whilst Chelsea have the guns to contribute to the scoring, the away win gets the vote.

Prediction: Chelsea 1-3 Liverpool

Arsenal v Aston Villa

Arsenal missed a trick last week when they let a 2-0 lead slip at Watford, a game that finished 2-2. Prior to that they came from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with Spurs at The Emirates whilst earlier rersults include a 3-1 defeat at Liverpool, a 1-0 win at Newcastle and 2-1 home victory over Burnley.

Villa have just four points to show for their efforts so far and last time out they drew 0-0 at home to West Ham. Their only win so far came 2-0 at home to Everton and 2 other road trips to London ended in defeat, 3-1 at Spurs and 1-0 at Crystal Palace.

Arsenal have not been overly convincing but they get the vote to edge this one.

Prediction: Arsenal 2-1 Villa
