Race 1

MY ONE AND ONLY has produced two good runs to date. She stayed on when third over 1160m at Turffontein last time. The daughter of Act Of War has found betting support in both her efforts to date which suggests that she has shown good work at home. The drop to 1000m may suit her well and she can shed her maiden tag in this field.

BLAZING BEAUTY is an unraced daughter of Erupt from the Tony Peter yard with Phelisile Mongqawa in the saddle. If not too green, she should start her career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to her chances.

BILINGUAL had excuses in her last start over this distance on the Turffontein Inside course. She has fair form lines to her credit. Anathi Feni is booked to ride and she can earn another cheque.

Race 2

BOURBON RESERVE made the expected natural improvement when second over this C&D last time. He may have cost himself winning that day as he hung in the closing stages. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He will strip a much fitter horse and can go one better.

TIGER STORM finished 1.05 lengths behind the top selection last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result.

HEMISPHERE showed signs of needing his comeback run last time. The son of Vercingetorix would have come on from the outing and should strip much fitter. He gets the services of 2.5kgs claiming apprentice Trent Mayhew which will assist his cause. There should be improvement to come.

Race 3

SANTIAGO‘S PRIDE showed some improvement in his last start over 1700m on this course. He should have finished closer to the winner that day as he hung in the final 300m. The son of Futura gets the blinkers fitted which should keep his mind on the task at hand. If seeing out the 2000m, he may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

ANOTHER UNIVERSE finished 0.75 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them at the finish.

PYRO EDITION returns from an 11-week break. He tries the cheekpieces and steps up to 2000m. He has scope and if not in need of this outing, he should be involved at the finish.

Race 4

INSTANT ATTRACTION‘S last three starts have been decent. She raced from a handy position over 1700m last time and rallied late to finish third. The daughter of Canford Cliffs should love the rise to 2000m. She does have the early gate speed to overcome the widest draw and she may be hard to peg back.

GLORIA MUNDI raced from a handy position over 1700m last time, but found one too good in the form of Arctic Vixen. She would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.

CITY LIGHTS finished 1.25 lengths behind the second selection last time. She is 1kg worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result.

Race 5

FIRE ATTACK produced a good comeback run when sixth in the Grade 3 Betway Graham Beck Stakes last time. He should have finished closer to the winner that day as he had to be switched for running room at the 300m mark. The son of Fire Away would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. With a bit of luck in running, he should find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

MUSICAL SCORE ran a good race when fifth in the Grade 3 Betway Graham Beck Stakes last time. The manner in which he finished off his race that day was encouraging. He is likely to be settled near the rear of the field from the widest draw and will be mowing down the frontrunners.

BIOFARMER ran a fair race over 1100m on this course last time. If finding the form of his penultimate run, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 6

NUCLEAR FORCE cost himself at the starting stalls last time. He lost three lengths leaving the gates, before moving up well. He found one too good in the form of Douglas Dragon that day. The son of Global View is having his peak run and should be cherry-ripe. If jumping on terms, he can notch up his fourth-career victory.

TO THE RESCUE finished 0.5 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish.

MAMBO COME TESIO is better than his last start over this C&D. Marco van Rensburg retains the ride and on best form shown, he cannot be ignored.

Race 7

CALLABURN has decent consistent form lines to his credit. He finished 2.5 lengths behind GUY ALEXANDER in his penultimate effort. He is 3kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He finished second in his only C&D attempt. If jumping on terms, he may be rewarded for consistency.

GUY ALEXANDER took on stronger company in his last start. He won his previous two efforts. The 6yo horse is likely to race on the speed and he may be hard to peg back.

FLAG BEARER is better than his last start over 2400m. Two of his four career victories have come over this distance. On his previous form, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 8

BACCHUS followed up his maiden victory with a good second-place finish over this distance at Turffontein. Heather’s Boy who beat him that day looks to have plenty of class about him. The son of Master Of My Fate will strip much fitter and he is the horse to beat.

HAMMIES HERO was running on when second over 1450m on the Turffontein Inside course last time. He would have come on from the outing and is one of the leading contenders.

RED LEGEND was a tad disappointing over 1800m last time. He finished second in his only attempt over this C&D. With a bit of luck from his wide draw, he should feature
