The Monaco Grand Prix takes place at the famous street Circuit this Sunday and we take a look at the race from a betting angle.
The Emilia Romagna Grand Prix was due to take place last week, but was unfortunately cancelled due to flooding.
This will be the first race since the Miami Grand Prix on 7th May where Max Verstappen came from 9th on the grid to claim victory over his teammate, Sergio Perez who had started in pole position. Fernando Alonso finished 3rd for his 4th podium in 5 starts. Max Verstappen also got the fastest lap.
Verstappen has a 14 point lead over Perez with Alonso a further 40 points back, 3rd on the table. Verstappen is a 1/9 favourite to defend his Driver’s Title ahead of his teammate, Perez at 6/1 with 50/1 and better on offer about the balance and bookmakers have also priced up in the “Without Verstappen Market” where Perez is trading as a 1/7 favourite.

MONACO GRAND PRIX
Sergio Perez goes into the Monaco Grand Prix as defending Champion having held off Carlos Sainz Jnr. and Max Verstappen a year ago. Perez had won from the second row of the grid, something which is not easy on this street circuit where overtaking is difficult. Charles Leclerc had qualified in pole position, but could only finish 4th.
The Monaco Grand Prix has thrown up a number of different winners over the years with Lewis Hamilton the only multiple winner in the seven runnings since 2015, winning in 2016 and 2019.

Suggested Bet: Max Verstappen win at 5/4
It promises to be another battle between Verstappen and Perez. Verstappen does appear to have the edge at the moment and what makes this bet particularly attractive is the promotion this week from World Sports Betting where if your driver wins the race and gets the fastest lap you double your winnings in free bets. Verstappen is also a favourite to get the fastest lap and is currently priced at 18/10 in that market.

Suggested Bet: Both cars podium finish, Red Bull, YES, at 5/6
For this bet to arrive both the Red Bull’s of Perez and Verstappen must finish on the podium and this would have happened in 4 of the first 5 Grand Prix’s this season.
