There are two DSTV Premiership matches taking place on Friday and we suggest a bet in each of them.
Richards Bay v Mamelodi Sundowns – Click here to bet
Richards Bay currently sit 3rd on the table and they are undefeated in their last 9 matches. Returning from a lengthy break they beat Swallows 1-0 at home on New Year’s Eve. Goals have been scarce in Richards Bay matches and only two of the 14 games they have played would have delivered you a profit had you backed over 2.5 goals in the match.
Mamelodi Sundowns are flying high at the top of the table, 7 points clear of nearest rivals, SuperSport United. They have won their last 8 games in succession including beating Pirates 2-0 on their return to action after the break and then coming out and beating Swallows 2-0, both games on home turf. Goals have flowed a bit more freely in Mamelodi Sundowns games and 6 of their 14 games have reached the 3 goal mark.
Richards Bay are newcomers to the League and the only head-to-head form available is a Nedbank Cup clash in February of 2022 when Sundowns ran out comfortable 4-0 winners.
I think Mamelodi Sundowns will get the job done as they usually do, but I don’t think it is going to be a runaway victory and I will take a stab at the Correct Score Market.
Suggested Bet: Correct Score 0-2 at 9/2
Swallows v Chippa United – Click here to bet
Swallows are currently second from bottom of the table and they have lost both their games on returning to action, going down 2-0 at Sundowns last time out and 1-0 at Richards Bay before that.
Swallows have won 3 and lost 3 of their 6 home games this season and they did win their last home game which was against Royal AM back in October.
6 of Swallows 14 matches have reached the 3 goal mark, but their last 5 games have all delivered profits for under 2.5 goal backers.
Chippa United are 6th on the log and since returning to action they have drawn their only match 1-1 away at Stellenbosch. They have won 3, drawn 2 and lost 3 of 8 matches on the road this season and a closer look at their goal stats shows that 50% of their matches averaged the 3 goal mark.
This should be a really type game and I am going for the draw here, a result which would have arrived in the last 4 meetings between the sides.
Suggested Bet: The draw at 2/1
