In the final round of the group stages in the European Champions Cup, the Bulls are set to face Bordeaux Bègles and the Stormers take on Stade Français, both on Saturday, the 20th of January. In this preview, 'The Don' will take a look at the betting for both matches.
Bulls vs Bordeaux Bègles
In the three games the Bulls have played so far in the year’s group stage, they have managed to secure two victories, earning themselves 10 points. These victories include a 27-16 win over Saracens at home and a 31-17 triumph against Bristol away. Their only loss of the tournament so far, was away to Lyon where the final score was 29-28.
Bordeaux Bègles have had a very successful start to their tournament, managing to secure three victories in the three games they've played so far. These wins include convincing victories over both Saracens (home) and Connacht (away), as well as a 36-17 win over Bristol away. This has given them a total of 15 points, putting them on top of Pool 1 and earning them a guaranteed spot in the round of 16.

Verdict
It looks likely that Bordeaux will rest a number of their 1st choice players and the Bulls can take advantage and win this comfortably.

Stade Français vs Stormers
Stade Français have not had a good campaign, losing all three of their games and earning only 1 point. These defeats include two convincing losses to Sale and Leinster away, as well as a narrow loss to Leicester at home in a game that ended 24-27. Unfortunately, these results have left them with no chance of advancing to the round of 16.
On the other hand, the Stormers have had a relatively successful start in their first three games, securing two wins against Sale and La Rochelle at home. Their only loss occurred in their first game against Leicester with a final score of 35-26 which was not too bad consider the Stormers rested a number of players. This places the Stormers with nine points in second position on the table and keeping them in the race for a spot in the round of 16.

Verdict
With the Stormers being in better form so far in the tournament and likely needing something out of this game to advance to the round of 16, they are worthy favourites and I am not convinced that Stade Français will be up for this and am backing the Stormers to beat the handicap even if a few players are rested.
