England have played a total of 10 fixtures this season, with two of these matches being played in the month of November. Their month started off with a game against New Zealand on the 2nd of November, where they fell short in the end, losing the match 24-22.

Their most recent clash was last weekend in a thriller against Australia, where things came down to the wire, with England looking like the winners after a try in the 78th minute to take the lead, this was not the case though due to Australia scoring an incredible try after the clock went red, to win the match 42-37 in the 84th minute.

South Africa are on an impressive run of form, and they have proven their depth over the last year, winning the Rugby Championships in September.

Since then, they have played just one international match, which was against Scotland in Murrayfield last weekend on Sunday the 10th of November. Things were close after a scrappy first half but when the Springboks bench hit the pitch there was a shift in momentum which saw them add to the score board and eventually win the match 32-15, making it the second game in a row in which the South African defence have held the Scottish side try-less.

Head-To-Head

A game between these two sides always promises action and they have met head-to-head twice in England since the 2019 World Cup Final where the Boks beat them 32-12 in Japan. They played one fixture in November 2021 where England clinched an exciting 27-26 win and their most recent encounter was two years ago where we saw the South African side pull clear and win 27-13.

ROB THE RINGER’S PLAY

The weather conditions are looking decent for the weekend, however there are chances of rain peaking at 19:00 just before the game will take place, this combined with the fact that these sides had a close and low scoring encounter with 31 total points (16-15 to SA in the semi-final) at the 2023 RWC last time they met, makes my pick for the match:

Total Points under 46.5 at 1.87
