English Premier League action continues this weekend and @Olimp_SA have a preview including betting tips for Spurs vs Manchester United, Manchester City vs Newcastle and West Ham vs Chelsea
The second round of the 2023/2024 Premier League season is shortly upon us and we`ve got several eye-catching fixtures to get involved in!
Tottenham vs Manchester United
Spurs return home after forcing a 2-2 draw against Brentford. It will be their first game on home soil without Harry Kane, and we`re yet to see who will fill those shoes. Spurs had a couple of good moments last week, however, realistically it will take some time for Postecoglou to implement his tactics. Tottenham`s last victory against United at home was in 2018, failing to beat them 6 consecutive games in all competitions.
Man United scraped past Wolves with a 1-0 victory. The Red Devils showed signs of last season`s inconsistencies in their home display, and they still lack the goals considering a dangerous attack. Still, they seem to have the edge over Spurs, having last lost to them at Old Trafford back in 2020. 4 of their last 5 meetings ended with over 2.5 goals, therefore, we expect over 2.5 goals and Manchester United to win. Manchester City vs Newcastle
Man City kicked off their season with a comfortable 3-0 win at Turf Moor - being one of the few to break the fortified home ground. They went on to secure their first silverware of the season in a victory over Sevilla in the Supercup. The Citizens have beaten Newcastle in Manchester in 8 consecutive games, with the Magpies winning an EFL Cup fixture back in 2014.
Newcastle blew Aston Villa apart in their opening fixture - taking a 5-1 victory at home. The Magpies are staying consistent from last season, and considering their pre-season are looking like a very dangerous side. However, they`ve had little luck against City in recent years, with their last victory back in 2019 at St. James` Park. We do expect a close game and both teams to score, but ultimately Manchester City to win. BET HERE
West Ham vs Chelsea
West Ham were held to a 1-1 draw at the Vitality Stadium in their opening game. The Hammers finished their pre-season with little confidence, and now carried it into the season. Still, they like to pose a challenge for Chelsea, with their recent game ending in a 1-1 draw, and giving the Blues just 1 win in their last 5 visits. Considering the London rivalry, we are likely to see a better West Ham display.
Chelsea settled for a 1-1 draw against Liverpool in an action-packed fixture. Although pressed early, the Blues turned the game around with a very strong attacking threat, even difficult for Liverpool to handle. They`ve beaten West Ham in 2 of their last 3 meetings and considering last week`s display can do a lot of damage to a shaky West Ham side. Still, we are yet to see Pochettino fulfil that promise consistently, so a safer option would be for both teams to score and over 2.5 goals. BET HERE
Have a great weekend!
