Alexander Usyk puts his heavyweight titles on the line when he fights Daniel Dubois in Poland on Saturday and the Ukrainian is a firm favourite with @Olimp_SA
Daniel Dubois will compete for Oleksandr Usyk’s three belts and the world heavyweight title on the 26th of August at the Stadion Wroclaw in Poland. The Don takes a look at the form and betting for the fight.

Oleksandr Usyk
The Ukrainian fighter currently has a 20-0 record with 13 of those wins coming by knockout. In 2021 he won the WBO, WBA and IBF titles after he defeated Anthony Jushua by unanimous decision. Despite facing criticism when he transitioned from cruiserweight to heavyweight, he has proved the doubters wrong earning himself champion status beating Chaz Witherspoon, Dereck Chisora and Anthony Joshua.
Usyk is known as something of a slow starter and against the big hitting Dubois the 36 year old will be looking to stay out of trouble early before wearing his opponent down.
Daniel Dubois
Having secured 19 victories and only suffering one loss, the 25-year-old powerhouse, Daniel Dubois, has an exceptional tally of 18 knockout victories. Following his only career loss against Joe Joyce in 2020, Dubois made a strong recovery, delivering a series of knockout wins against Bogdan Dinu, Joe Cusumano, Trevor Bryan and South African Kevin Lerena who he beat with a 3rd round TKO despite being knocked down 3 times in the 1st round.
The 25 year old 6ft 5 giant gets his crack at the big time thanks to being the mandatory challenger in the WBA division.
Prediction
Usyk possesses not only superior technique, speed and reflexes but he also has a lot more boxing knowledge as well as experience. As mentioned above he can be a slow starter and I expect him to focus on defence and working his opponent out in the early rounds.
The tide should however turn in Usyk’s favour as the fight goes on.
If Dubois can’t find the knockout blow early (which will be challenging given Usyk’s ability to withstand hits), I expect Usyk will set about dismantling Dubois. Should the match end sooner than full distance, it will hardly be a surprise and I am betting this is all over before the 10th round opening bell rings.
