Race 1

DHOW SOLO showed some decent improvement in her stable debut over 1160m at Turffontein. She showed good speed and stayed on at the business end. The daughter of Oratorio would have come on from the run and should give the males a run for their money.
VATHOMVLAFFIE stayed on when third over this C&D last time. She would have come on from the outing and should strip much fitter. Kaidan Brewer retains the ride and she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.
Race 2
WINTER PATH showed good speed over this distance at Turffontein last time, but was outrun late by Lovegrass. She is having her peak run today and will be cherry-ripe. Kabelo Matsunyane is booked to ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her where it matters most.
SMASHING finished 1.15 lengths behind the top choice last time. She is 1.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result.
JJ’S EAGLE got going too late when second in her last start over this C&D. The cheekpieces seem to have done the trick on the daughter of Jay Peg. She would have come on from the run and will strip much fitter. If confirming her recent improvement, she can feature.
Race 3
ROSY LEMON is in good form. She stayed on at the finish over this distance at Turffontein last time, but found one too good in the form of Witblits. She meets a similar line-up this afternoon and can go one better.
PRETTY IN PEARLS ran a good race when second over 2000m at Turffontein last time. She finished 2.75 lengths behind the top choice in her penultimate run. She is 1kg better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.
THREE STRANDS stayed on when fourth over 1600m last time. She finished third in her only attempt over this distance. The daughter of Futura will be mowing down the frontrunners.
Race 4
FUSHIMI INARI lost two lengths leaving the start last time, but stayed on well to finish third over 1600m on this course. The manner in which he finishes off his races suggests that he will love the rise to 1800m. If getting away to a clean start, he can return to winning ways.
KUDZU finished 2 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result. He would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter.
LITTLE PRINCE rallied late to win his last start over 2000m on this course. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. He is likely to be settled near the rear of the field once again and will be mowing down the frontrunners.
Race 5
DIVINE MOONLIGHT was not disgraced when fifth against stronger company over 1160m at Turffontein last time. It must be noted that Cullinan Blue has come out and won again since. Raymond Danielson who was aboard the daughter of Querari when she won her maiden, steps back into the saddle. She returns to Handicap Company and should be the one to beat.
MIA FIORE showed some signs of needing her last start over 1200m on this course. She would have come on from the run and will strip much fitter. She won her only attempt over this C&D. With luck in running, she should pose a massive threat.
DUENNA has good recent form lines to her credit. She stayed on when third over this C&D last time. If getting away to a clean start, she should earn another cheque for her patrons.
Race 6
DUKE OF ROCK raced from a prominent position over 1200m last time and stayed on to finish second. The son of Duke Of Marmalade takes a drop-in class and despite his big mass of 61.5kgs, he should take a power of beating.
JP TWO THOUSAND is better than his last start over 1500m. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. On his previous form, he should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.
FULLIAUTOMATIX was an easy winner of his last start over 1400m. He set the pace, found another kick and won with a ton in hand. He meets similar company this afternoon and merits healthy respect.
Race 7
JASIRI ran a good race when third over 1000m at Turffontein last time. She was slow into stride, but finished her race off well. The daughter of Canford Cliffs will love the rise to 1200m. She is having her peak run today and will be cherry-ripe. From her good draw of four, she should be the one to beat.
WINGS WITHIN ME finished 2.5 lengths behind the top choice last time. She is 2kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.
LIGHT OF DAY ran a good race when second over 1600m at Turffontein last time. She has won once and finished second once from three starts on this course. If confirming her recent improvement, she may be involved in the fight to the finish.
Race 8
FULLY LOADED has good recent form lines to his credit. He moved up well over 1500m last time, but was outrun late by Hotarubi. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. He has won once and finished second twice from as many starts over this C&D. The son of Pomodoro may be rewarded for consistency.
KALAHARI BLUE finished 2.95 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 2kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.
TWICE THE STORM has fair recent form lines to his name. He has won once, finished second twice and third three times from eleven starts over this distance. Craig Zackey does duty and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most
