Race 1
ARISTOTLE produced a promising debut effort over this C&D. He was slow into stride, understandably raced green but the manner in which he stayed on at the finish was encouraging. It must be noted that One Stripe has come out and won again since. The son of Rafeef would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, he should go one better.
BAGATELLE FLASH ran a good race on debut over 1000m on this course. He was green in running and the manner in which he stayed on at the finish suggests that he will enjoy the extra furlong on offer. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.
MISS ARGONAUT was not beaten far on debut over this C&D. The daughter of Legislate receives her sex allowance which will assist her cause. Aldo Domeyer is booked to ride and she should make the natural progression.
Race 2
IGUGULETHU was slow into stride over this C&D last time and stayed on to finish fourth. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He meets the right field and if jumping on terms, he can shed his maiden tag.
CLIFF SWALLOW ran on strongly late when second over this C&D last time. The son of Canford Cliffs is a progressive type and if not too far out of his ground at the halfway mark, he should pose a massive threat.
APPROACH SHOT challenged strongly in his last start over this C&D, but was outrun late by Speed Racer. He carries a more suitable weight of 60kgs and must be included in all bets.
Race 3
ICE RAIN stayed on when fifth over 1200m last time. It must be noted that Riverstone has come out and won again since and multiple other horses from the form line have come out and won since. She has finished second three times and third once from as many starts over this distance. She does have to contend with the widest draw, but Corne Orffer knows her well and he will give her all the necessary assistance from the saddle.
JET GREEN stayed on when fourth over 1200m last time. She carries a light mass of 51.5kgs and will be mowing down the frontrunners.
BLIND FAITH finished 1.25 lengths behind the second selection last time. She is 1.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may battle to turn the form around.
Race 4
WE’RE JAMMING was outpaced early over 1200m in the Grade 2 Khaya Stables Diadem Stakes last time and stayed on to finish 1.9 lengths behind the winner. The son of Duke Of Marmalade is the class horse in the race and if getting away to a clean start, he can notch up his fourth career victory.
WECANGOALLNIGHT is better than his last start when he took no interest in running. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. He has won once and finished second twice from four starts over this distance. If putting his best foot forward, he should pose a threat.
CAFE CULTURE won a game race in his last start over this C&D. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. The removal of the blinkers did the trick and he can follow up.
Race 5
RADICCHIO was a tad disappointing in his last start over 1200m on this course. He finished second in his only attempt over this distance. The son of Flower Alley drops in class and with the services of Richard Fourie, he should find a form return.
MASTER OF PARIS stayed on when second over this C&D last time. He has won once and finished second twice from as many starts over this distance. He jumps from a good draw of two and will be running on.
DESTINED TO DANCE moved up like a winner over 1800m last time but was outrun late. If confirming her recent improvement in this field, she should give the males a run for their money.
Race 6
CANDY TOWN was not disgraced in the Grade 2 wsb.co.za Southern Cross Stakes last time. She returns from a 15-week break which would have done her the world of good. The daughter of Querari shows good speed in her races and if not in need of the run, she may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.
WINTER RAINFALL is better than her last start in the Non-Black Type Cape Racing Gold Rush. Her two starts prior to that outing were good. She should be ideally suited to this distance and is one of the leading contenders.
PORQUE TE VAS won a good race in her last start over this C&D. She received a four pound penalty for that victory. Richard Fourie retains the ride and she merits healthy respect.
Race 7
MIGHTY MAC moved up well over 1200m last time but was outrun late. He finished 0.45 lengths behind MR FROSTIE in his penultimate run. He is 2kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He should be ideally suited to 1100m and may be the one to side with in this line-up.
ON BOARD stayed on when fourth over 1000m on this course last time. The blinkers seem to have done the trick and she should give a good account of herself.
MR FROSTIE is better than his last start over 1200m on this course. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. If finding the form of his penultimate run, he should be involved in the fight to the finish.
Race 8
RIO QUERARI stayed on when fifth in the Grade 2 Khaya Stables Diadem Stakes last time. He has won twice, finished second twice and third once from nine starts over this C&D. He runs well for Richard Fourie and he can return to winning ways.
JERUSALEMA RAIN showed good speed when winning his last start over 1200m on this course. The blinkers have done the trick. He carries another handy galloping mass of 54kgs and should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.
DANCE VARIETY ran a good race when second behind the second choice last time. He is better suited to further but is in a good space and should be involved at the finish
