Race 1
B FIFTYTWO has improved in his last two starts after the gelding and with the tongue-tie fitted. The son of Lancaster Bomber is having his peak run today and will be cherry-ripe. He should have no issues with the rise to 1400m and in this type of field, he may be the one to side with.
NINETY NINE HEROS should have finished closer to the winner over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time as he hung in the closing stages. He is the stable elect with Tristan Godden in the saddle and if keeping on a straight line, he should pose a threat.
TYBALT is an unraced son of Fire Away from the Dean Kannemeyer stable with Athandiwe Mgudlwa in the saddle. He is related to four-time winner Ponte Pietra. If not too green, he should start his career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to him and the other first timer in this contest.
Race 2
WOODLAND GRACE is the best bet on the programme. She should have won her last start as she was carried off a straight line at the 200m mark. The daughter of Flower Alley is a progressive type and will love the rise to 1700m. She has cracked a good draw of four and with luck in running, she should take a power of beating.
NTOMBENHLE showed good improvement in her last start over 1600m on this course. She lost a length at the start, but the manner in which she finished off her race was encouraging. She is likely to adopt the same tactics and she should be one of the leading contenders.
. DOCTOR‘S ORDERS‘ last three starts have been fair. It must be noted that the horse that finished second in her last outing has come out and won since. The daughter of Capetown Noir should have no issues with the rise to 1700m and she can finish in the first three.
Race 3
PASCALI ran a decent race when fourth in his last start over 1400m on this course. The manner in which he stayed on at the finish that day was encouraging. The son of Ideal World has dropped to a competitive rating and in this line-up, he should notch up his second career victory
EXCEED EXPECTATION has fair recent form lines to his credit. He should have finished closer to the winner last time as he was baulked for galloping room from the 300m mark to the 150m mark. Derryl Daniels retains the ride and with a bit of luck in running, he should run a big race.
OH MY WORD ITS ROY showed some signs of a form return in his last start over 1600m on this course. He should have finished closer that day as he had to be switched for running room in the latter stages. He should strip much fitter and if jumping on terms, he can earn another cheque.
Race 4
JOHNNY THE THIEF has finished second in his last three starts. He set the pace over 1700m last time, but found one too good in the form of Medal Of Freedom. The manner in which he finishes off his races suggests that he will love the rise to 1900m. Gavin Lerena takes the ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.
KING BAVARIAN stayed on when third in his last start over 1600m on this course. The son of Linngari should have no issues with the rise to 1900m and he is one of the leading contenders
TIGER SPRING finished 0.15 lengths behind the second choice last time. He is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating them in the run down to the line.
Race 5
DIVINE MOONLIGHT is better than her last start in the Non-Black Type Bloodstock SA Sales Cup (Fillies) as the jockey reported something to be amiss. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. Her penultimate run when fifth in the Listed Hollywoodbets Super League Devon Air Stakes was encouraging. She is a filly with ability and if suited to the polytrack, she should give her older rivals a run for their money.
POURSOMESUGARONME lost a length leaving the start last time, but the manner in which she finished off her race was encouraging. She has finished second once and third twice from four starts over this distance. If jumping on terms, she should pose a massive threat.
THERE SHE GOES was an easy winner of her last start over 1200m on the Turffontein Inside course. She has won once, finished second once and third twice from eight starts over this distance. She is in a good space and can follow up.
Race 6
BLACKWHITEDYNAMITE has been taking on slightly stronger company in recent outings. It must be noted that the horse that finished second in his last start has come out and won since. He will enjoy the return to the polytrack as he has won four times, finished second twice and third once from eleven starts on this course. He has finished second over this distance in the past and on best form shown, he can return to winning ways.
PURPLE OPERATOR returns from a 10-week break which may have done him the world of good. He has won twice and finished second three times from six starts over this C&D. If not in need of the run, he should pose a threat
PREEMPTIVE STRIKE has good recent form lines to his credit. He has won twice, finished second once and third once from seven starts over this C&D. He is in a good space and merits healthy respect.
Race 7
ZINIKELE stayed on strongly when second over 1400m on this course last time. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight won her only attempt over this C&D. She takes a drop-in class and can notch up her fourth-career victory.
ASIYE PHAMBILI stayed on when second over 1400m on the turf last time. She would have come on with the run and if suited to the polytrack surface, she should pose a massive threat.
PETIT VERDOT finished 1.35 lengths behind MAGICAL FLIGHT last time. She is 3kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. She does carry a handy galloping mass of 52kgs and if jumping on terms, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.
Race 8
LESLIES PATHTOFAME was an easy winner of his last start over this C&D. He ran on well and drew clear of the opposition. The 9yo gelding received a seven-pound penalty for that victory. Muzi Yeni retains the ride and he can follow up.
FARLAND finished 3 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 3kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result. He would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter.
BRAVE VOYAGER has good consistent form lines to his credit. He raced from a handy position last time, moved up well but was caught late by Jetavana. Gavin Lerena takes the ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most
