VIVA LA VIDA produced a promising debut effort over this C&D. She showed good speed, but found one too good in the form of Lowveld Lily. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight would have gained from the experience. Gavin Lerena retains the ride, and the combination should find themselves in the winner’s enclosure. 

MARKETA has finished third in her last three starts over 1000m. She should have finished closer last time as she received a bump at the 150m mark. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces. 

BEAUTIFUL ONE finished 1.25 lengths behind the second selection last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today. The daughter of One World has scope and would not be a shock winner. 

Race 2

DU MAURIER has finished second in both her efforts to date. She raced from a prominent position over 1000m last time, but found one too good in the form of Inside Voice. The daughter of Captain Of All will enjoy the extra 200m and she may be the one to side with. 

MY DEAR FRIEND showed some improvement when fifth over this C&D last time. The daughter of Master Of My Fate is a progressive type and she may have more to come. 

MEGHAN‘S DIAMOND had excuses on debut over 1000m on this course. The daughter of Rafeef would have gained from the experience and she should make the natural improvement.

Race 3

CONGRESSMAN has good consistent form lines to his credit. He moved up like a winner over 1700m last time, before getting outrun late. The son of Querari would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. Corne Orffer is likely to use his early gate speed to overcome his awkward draw, and he may be hard to peg back. 

PINOT GRIGIO was touched off in his last start over 1950m on this course. He challenged strongly all the way to the line, but found one too good in the form of Ahead Of The Facts. He should run another honest race with Andrew Fortune retaining the ride. 

DUBBELOSIX was caught late when third over 1950m on this course last time. He has won once and finished second once from three starts over this distance. With a bit of luck in running, he should be right there

Race 4

BEAUTIFUL SIDE finished 0.5 lengths behind REAL STUNNER last time. She is 3.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. Apprentice Brevan Plaatjies takes the 2.5kgs off her back and with a bit of luck in running, she can shed her maiden tag. 

SIGNOR DANTE ran a fair race over 1600m on this course last time. The son of Rafeef should enjoy the rise to 1800m. He jumps from a good draw of two and is one of the leading contenders. 

REAL STUNNER is the stable companion of the second selection. He is having his peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. Richard Fourie is booked to ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most. 

Race 5

BETTER MAN‘S last two starts over 1400m have been good. The son of One World has been gelded which may have done the trick. He should enjoy the rise to 1600m and if not in need of the run, he may find himself in the winner’s enclosure. 

CAPTAINS ALLIANCE finished 1.5 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result.   

BALZI ROSSI took on winners in his last start over 1500m on this course. His penultimate run when third over 1400m was encouraging. If finding the form of that outing, he should be involved at the finish.

 

 

Race 6

ARBITRATION stayed on at the finish when fourth over 1400m on this course last time. He finished third over this distance in his penultimate run. If not too far out of his ground turning for home, he can return to winning ways. 

KING‘S QUEST finished 0.2 lengths behind the top selection last time. He is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish. He has cracked pole position which is a big plus. 

EXPRESS YOURSELF was outrun late over 1950m on this course last time. He takes a drop in class and if putting his best foot forward, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 7

DAWN TILL DUSK was touched off in his last start over this C&D. He would have come on from the run and will strip a much fitter horse. He meets a similar line-up this afternoon and can go one better. 

PROMETTERE ran a fair race when fourth in the Non-Black Type Winter Mile last time. He has won once, finished second once and third twice from eight starts over this distance. Richard Fourie retains the ride, and the combination merit healthy respect. 

GREEN GARNET finished 0.4 lengths behind the top selection last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms this afternoon and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish. 

Race 8

DIAMOND BOMBER should have finished closer to the winner in her last start over this C&D. She has dropped in the ratings and takes a drop in class. It is encouraging that Aldo Domeyer steps back into the saddle and with luck in running, she can notch up her second-career victory. 

SENHORA VICTORIA finished 0.8 lengths behind the top choice last time. She is 4.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may battle to turn the form around. She is having her peak run and will be cherry-ripe. 

ROYAL LYTHAM showed some signs of needing her last start over 1200m. She would have come on from the outing and should strip much fitter. If seeing out the 1400m, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 9

TRIPPI‘S SILK has good recent form lines to his credit. He raced from a handy position over 1400m last time and stayed on to finish third. He finished 0.5 lengths behind CIRCUMBENDIBUS in his penultimate run. He is 1kg better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. 

CIRCUMBENDIBUS tried hard when second over this C&D last time. He has won once, finished second three times and third once from eight starts over this C&D. He is in a good space and merits healthy respect. 

ONE LINER finished 1.25 lengths behind the second selection last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result
