Race 1 

PHIL THE FLUTER found one too good in the form of Molotov Cocktail over this distance last time. He is having his peak run today and will be cherry-ripe. Phelisile Mongqawa is booked to ride and he can shed his maiden tag. 

BLUE QUARTZ ran a fair race over 1400m at Turffontein last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. She may be the one to fill the exacta spot in this field. 

MYSTIC VISION is better than his last start over 1400m on this course. He finished third over this C&D in his penultimate run. If finding the form of that run, he should have a say. 

Race 2

RAINY SEASON finished 0.5 lengths behind NUCLEAR FORCE last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He is having his peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. He is likely to race on the speed and may be hard to peg back. 

NUCLEAR FORCE won a game race over this distance on the Classic course. He is in a good space and merits healthy respect. 

FLAG BEARER has finished third in his last two starts. He finished 0.75 lengths behind the top choice in his penultimate run. He is 2.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may battle to turn the form around.

Race 3

HOTARU ran on strongly when second over this C&D last time. She is a progressive type and Kaidan Brewer retains the ride. In this type of field, she should be the one to beat. 

EMPRESS WU stayed on when second over 1000m on the Classic course last time. She has finished third over this distance previously. S’manga Khumalo steps back into the saddle and she should be competitive. 

CHERICHERILADY should have finished closer last time as the saddle was reported to have slipped in running. She is a progressive type and Muzi Yeni may be able to get the best out of her where it matters most. 

Race 4

NAZARE won a good race in his last start over 1000m on the Classic course. The manner in which he quickened away from the field was encouraging. Despite his big mass of 61kgs, he should follow up with another victory. 

CAPTAIN EFFICIENT stayed on when second over 1160m at Turffontein last time. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. He will strip much fitter and is one of the leading contenders. 

ALONE TIME was running on when second over this C&D last time. If getting away to a clean start, he should be involved at the finish. 

Race 5

GREAT NOTION challenged strongly when third over 1160m at Turffontein last time. She finished third in her only attempt over this distance. She drops back in class and may be the horse to side with. 

WHIRLYBIRD finished 0.6 lengths behind the top choice last time. She is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish. 

FLIGHT OF A CONDOR is better than her last start over 1160m at Turffontein. She has won once and finished second once from as many starts over this C&D. She runs well for Trent Mayhew and the combination merit healthy respect. 

 

 

Race 6

VIBE SA was running on when fifth over this distance at Hollywoodbets Greyville last time. He has won once and finished second once from as many starts over this C&D. The son of Just As Well is having his peak run today and can notch up his third-career victory. 

CIAN THE CONQUEROR ran a fair race in his first run for Weichong Marwing. He takes a drop in class and would not be a shock winner on best form shown. 

KING OF NUMBERS has good recent form lines to his credit. He raced from a handy position last time and tried hard all the way to the line. He drops back in distance which should not pose an issue. He is in a good space and must be included in all bets. 

Race 7

MOLOTOV COCKTAIL set the pace over 1600m last time and fought hard to hold all challengers at bay. The well-bred son of Danon Platina should have no issues with the rise to 1800m. He takes on stronger, but has plenty of scope and should be up to the task at hand. 

CHABAL tried hard when second over 2000m on this course last time. He should be ideally suited to this distance and is one of the leading contenders. 

FUTUREWOLFF finished 1.8 lengths behind the second selection last time. He is 2kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish. 

Race 8

WAGRAM has produced two good runs since winning her maiden over 1600m on the Turffontein Inside course. She stayed on at the finish over 2000m last time, but found one too good in the form of Azaleas For All. She is a filly with scope and with luck in running, she may find herself in the winner’s enclosure. 

FREE IN SEATTLE fought hard for her last victory over 2000m on the Classic course. She has finished second three times and third twice from seven starts over this distance. She is in a good space and merits obvious inclusion. 

ONE RELIGION finished 3.15 lengths behind the second choice last time. She is 3kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result. 

Race 9

WALLED GARDEN produced a creditable comeback run over 1200m on this course. He would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. The son of Flower Alley should love the rise to 1500m. Julius Mariba retains the ride and he may be the horse to cause the upset. 

SOVEREIGNS CALL‘S last two starts have been fair. He stayed on at the finish over 1400m on this course last time. Gavin Lerena is booked to ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most. 

LIBECCIO is the stable companion of the second choice. He has won once and finished third once from as many starts over this distance. The 5yo gelding will be mowing down the frontrunners
