BettingDiaryAfter a short break F1 action resumes this weekend with the British Grand Prix taking place at the Silverstone Race Track and Lewis Hamilton is strongly fancied by the bookies to continue his excellent record at the track.

After finishing off the podium in the opening Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton has bounced back with successive victories in the Styrian GP and the Hungarian GP. In Hungary he was absolutely dominant finishing with the fastest lap and also getting pole position. This means that despite being only a quarter of the way through the season, the Championship is already being bet as a one horse race with Hamilton now into 1/8 and as for the Constructors Championships, well let us not even go there, it is already race over.

Lewis Hamilton 40/85

Valtteri Bottas 3/1

Max Verstappen 17/2

Sergio Perez 25/1

40/1 and better the balance

Lewis Hamilton has gone extremely well at his home venue in recent years winning 5 of the last 6 at Silverstone including 2019 where he won having started 2nd on the grid behind his teammate Valtteri Bottas. Hamilton won the race by 24 seconds and it is no surprise to see him 40/85 in the betting this week. We have been on him in both of his last two victories, but that was at closer to the 9/10 mark and although I can’t argue with the current price I will be looking elsewhere for my bet this week.

The Racing Point team had me sitting up and taking notice in Hungary when both drivers qualified on the 2nd row of the grid. Perez unfortunately got off to a por start, but if that sort of qualification performance can be repeated then this team, which is based at Silverstone can be a factor this week, at least for the minor money.
