After a two-week break, Formula One returns to Europe for this year’s Austrian Grand Prix at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg. In this preview, we take a look at the race from a betting perspective and highlight a few suggested bets.

Austrian GP 2024
Last year’s race saw George Russell beat Oscar Piastri to win the race by 2 seconds. Carlos Sainz finished in third place while still driving for Ferrari. Max Verstappen finished in fifth place while Lando Norris finished in last place after fighting Verstappen for the lead with only a few laps to go and being forced off the track.

VERDICT
George Russell produced a superb drive in the previous race to claim victory in Canada. He also won last year’s Austrian Grand Prix, a race where Max Verstappen and Lando Norris were both affected by a collision. Russell looks to be in strong form heading into the weekend and will be aiming to close the gap to McLaren in both the Drivers' and Constructors' Championships.

Lando Norris is currently navigating one of the toughest and most decisive phases of his 2025 season. He is chasing his teammate Oscar Piastri in the Drivers' Championship but recent results have not gone his way. In Canada, Norris crashed out after attempting an overtake on Piastri. However, he returns to a circuit that holds fond memories. He claimed his first career podium in Austria back in 2020 and battled Verstappen to the final stages of last year’s race.
