Race 1
Trainer Mike Miller holds a strong hand in this contest and he can saddle the first three past the post. EXTRACTION showed some improvement in her last start over 900m on this course. The manner in which she finished off her race that day suggests that she will enjoy the extra furlong on offer. She is a progressive type and may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.
GREY FANTACY finished 0.2 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them at the finish.
ETHEREAL VIEW finished 0.6 lengths behind the top selection in the race referred to above. She will enjoy the extra furlong on offer and should be competitive.
Race 2
This is a competitive Maiden Plate and caution is advised. The tentative first selection is YANNAKIS from the Gary Rich stable. He raced from a handy position over this distance on the polytrack last time, but found one too good in the form of Teerex. The son of Erupt has plenty of scope and if putting his best foot forward, he can shed his maiden tag.
CAPTAIN MARSALA has shown improvement in his last two starts with the blinkers fitted. He returns from a 19-week break, during which time he would have strengthened up. If not in need of the run, he should go close.
RUN TO RIO stayed on when second over this C&D last time. He tries the blinkers for the first time which should keep his mind on the task at hand.
Race 3
BANDMASTER stayed on when fourth over 1700m on the polytrack last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. The son of Admiral Kitten will love the rise to 2400m and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, he can shed his maiden tag in this field.
ONLY A POET finished 0.7 lengths behind IRON MONGER last time. He is 1kg better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair in the run down to the line.
IRON MONGER stayed on when sixth over 1600m on this course last time. The manner in which he finished off his race that day suggests that he will love the rise to 2400m. If jumping on terms, he can finish in the placings.
Race 4
TWICE GOLDEN is a winner of his last two starts over 2400m at Hollywoodbets Greyville. He returns from a well-deserved 11-week break. The 7yo gelding has won over this C&D previously. He gets the services of 2.5kgs claiming apprentice Kobeli Lihaba and can notch up the hat-trick.
QUANTIFIER finished 3 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today which is not enough for the tables to be turned.
SUGAR BLAST has good recent form lines to his name. The 11-week break may have done him the world of good. He is likely to race on the speed and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, he may be hard to peg back.
Race 5
SKYTRIX raced from a handy position over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Greyville last time, and stayed on to finish fourth. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The daughter of Vercingetorix will love the rise to 1750m and from her good draw of two, she should find herself in the winner’s enclosure.
MYSTERIOUS GIRL stayed on when second over 2000m at Hollywoodbets Greyville last time. She finished third in her penultimate start over this C&D. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.
LEOPARD LADY finished 0.8 lengths behind the second choice last time. She is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating them at the finish.
Race 6
PINSTRIPE was given a peach of a ride when winning her maiden over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Greyville last time. She would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. The daughter of Vercingetorix takes on stronger, but she has plenty of scope and should be up to the task at hand.
DRIVE BY should have finished closer to the winner last time as she was baulked for galloping room at the 350m mark. She is likely to be settled near the rear of the field once again and with luck in running, she can go close.
GELSOMINA got up late to win her maiden over 1600m on the Polytrack. She tries the 1750m for the first time and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, she can follow up.
Race 7
HIPPOCRATES set the pace over this distance on the polytrack last time, but found one too good in the form of William Rufus. He has won three times, finished second twice and third once from ten starts over this distance. The son of Wylie Hall can notch up his sixth-career victory.
FLIGHT PATH won a good race when shedding his maiden tag over this C&D last time. He would have strengthened up during his time off the track. He does take on stronger, but has scope and should be up to the task at hand.
HAPPY WANDERER stayed on when fourth over this C&D last time. He is in a good space and must be included in all bets.
Race 8
DONQUERARI should have won his last start over this distance on the Polytrack as he had no luck in the straight. Two of his three career victories have come on this course. With a bit of luck in running, he can return to winning ways.
ISHNANA showed good signs of a form return in his last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Greyville. He is a horse that loves racing in the wet and if there is a cut in the ground, he can notch up his eleventh-career victory.
