To call this weekend a busy one for sports betters would be a grave understatement and we take a closer look at some of the action in our Weekend Diary.
RUGBY
Week 1 of Super Rugby continues on the weekend with a further 4 matches, both Saturday morning matches are big handicap affairs with the Rebels (-17.5) away to the Sunwolves and the Crusaders (-18.5) at home to the Waratahs.
The game which really catches our attention is the Stormers at home to the Hurricanes where the Stormers have been backed into 15/20 favourites and we think that stands out as one of the better bets on the weekend.
In the early hours of Sunday morning the Lions have a tough task of taking on the Jaguares in Argentina and the Jaguares have been well backed from (-6.5) to (-9.5).

There is also a Pro 14 fixture this weekend with the Cheetahs hosting the Kings. These sides met last week with the Cheetahs coming from behind to win in the dying seconds and the handicap line has been set at Cheetahs (-17.5). We were actually quite impressed by the Kings last week and although they will struggle to win in Bloemfontein they may well stay within the handicap.

SYDNEY SEVENS
The Sydney Sevens gets going in the early hours of Saturday morning and is once again a shortened event with the winners of each Group going through to the Semi-Finals.
The Blitzbokke have a tough Group which includes France, Samoa and Argentina and if we had to take our patriotic hat off, the Argentines could be the value at 53/20 to beat the Blitzboks in the opener.
As far as the Outright Betting goes, New Zealand are trading at 17/10 with South Africa 71/20, Fiji 4/1 and you can get 25/4 and better the balance.

FOOTBALL
English Premier League resumes on Saturday and first up we have Leicester v Chelsea which should be a cracking match. Leicester are 31/20, the draw 26/10 and Chelsea on offer at 7/4.
Both of these sides have being dropping a few too many points of late and they currently sit 3rd and 4th on the table. The draw looks a big runner.

On Sunday, Tottenham face Manchester City and Mourinho’s men are 9/2 for the win and the draw 71/20 and City priced at 11/20. Tottenham are currently 6th on the table and City are a distant 2nd behind Liverpool.

There are 5 PSL matches taking place over Saturday and Sunday and Arrows against SuperSport looks one of the bigger ones. Arrows currently sit 9th on the log, but have lost 3 of their last 5 games and they play SuperSport who sit 3rd and have won 3 of their last 5 matches. There shouldn’t be much between these sides and we think SuperSport can edge it at 13/10.
Another bet we like on the day is Orlando Pirates, to win on the road at Chippa United, at 11/10.

CRICKET
The Big Bash League is reaching a conclusion and on Saturday there is a playoff between the Adelaide Strikers and the Sydney Thunder. The Strikers are 8/13 with the Thunder 27/20 and the Strikers have certainly been in the better form of late and warrant favouritism.
Locally the One Day Cup continues and you can Click Here for betting on all the Momentum One Day Cup matches and internationally we have ICC U19 World Cup action as well as the 5th T20 between New Zealand and India.

HORSE RACING
Local horse racing races takes place at Kenilworth and Turffontein on Saturday and at the Greyville Polytrack on Sunday.
The big meeting is, of course, at Kenilworth for the running of the Sun Met which is the 9th Race of a 12 race card which gets going at 11:50 and finishes at 18:55.
Our fancy in the big race is 3rd favourite, Rainbow Bridge which has drifted from 4/1 to 9/2 behind joint favourites, Vardy and Hawwaam both trading at 26/10.

Turffontein’s meeting is a 9 race card starting at 12:40 and set to finish at 18:00 and one of the bets we fancy on the card is Horse No. 1 in the 7th Race, Marshall trained by Mike de Kock currently priced at 14/10.
