The Cape Town Sevens gets going on Friday and there is betting on both the women’s and the men’s events.

After the excellent win in Dubai the Blitzboks are favourites at even money to make it two in a row while New Zealand are 28/10 and Fiji 33/10 and you can get 14/1 and better the balance.

South Africa find themselves in a tough pool with Fiji and the USA, but they are 5/10 to top the log with Fiji 21/10 and the USA 33/4.

New Zealand should have few problems in Pool B and they are 1/10 to top the group and England are 3/10 favourites to win Pool C with France their likely challengers at 57/20.

Australia are 6/10 to win Group D while Samoa are 41/20 and Kenya 9/1.

There is betting out on the opening round of fixtures and South Africa are up against Japan and are (-25.5) point favourites with the Total Points Line set at 39.5.

There is also the European Champions Cup and Challenge Cup Rugby although punters are not getting as many of these televised as they would probably like.

Friday night sees Harlequins against Ulster and the Racing 92 against Ospreys and while Racing are massive favourites at home to Ospreys, the Harlequins v Ulster clash is competitive with Ulster 6/10 to win on the road.

GOLF

The Presidents Cup got underway in the early hours of Thursday morning and the Internationals raced to a 4-1 lead and that has seen them shorten to joint favourites 21/20 with the USA with the draw quoted at 12/1.

Day 2 action gets going in the early hours of Friday morning and you can also catch Day 3 late on Friday night.

There will be in-running betting on all of the matches as well as various other markets.

FOOTBALL

English football fans have a Championship match live on Friday night when Charlton take on Hull City. Both sides are sitting in the bottom half of the table with Charlton 17th with 4 losses in their last 5 starts and Hull are in slightly better form in 14th position with 2 wins in their last 5 starts.

There are two local Horse Racing meetings tomorrow with the first being at the Fairview Turftrack, an 8 race card starting at 12:35 and ending at 16:40.

Looking through the Pick Six legs the obvious banker appears to be Horse No. 2, Verbarium in the 4th Race currently priced at even money for the win and 2/13 for a top 3 finish.
