SOUTH AFRICA VS ARGENTINA

Match Handicap: South Africa -19.5

South Africa have been solid throughout this year’s Rugby Championship, and it all started with them travelling to Australia for their first 2 games, where they won comfortably on both occasions, with the first game ending 33-7 and the second ending 30-12.

They then hosted New Zealand twice, with the first match played at Loftus Versfeld where they snuck a 4 point, 31-27 victory and the second match was played in Cape Town where South Africa once again pipped the All Blacks, with the scoreboard showing 18-12 when the final whistle blew.

Argentina have been relatively inconsistent in this year’s tournament and after a good start where they beat the All Blacks 38-30 in Wellington, they could not back this performance with another win the next weekend, and they lost their second match against New Zealand 42-10 at Eden Park.

They then moved on their matches against Australia, which were played in Argentina. The first match did not go as planned and the final result saw the Los Pumas fall just short of the win, losing 20-19. The second match between these sides looked to be an easy win for the Australian side, and they were sitting 17 points up after 30 minutes of play, however things turned rapidly and Argentina dominated the rest of the game, obliterating the Wallabies 67-27.

1st Match SA vs ARG

These side met last weekend in Argentina where the Boks dominated early, scoring 17 unanswered points while carving through the Argentinean defence with ease. This dominant run did not last long and the Los Pumas began to fight back into the game eventually winning 29-28.

Head-To-Head

The last 3 times that Argentina have toured to South Africa and clashed with the Springboks on home turf, they have lost, with their most recent encounter taking place in July last year, in a match that ended 22-21 to South Africa in Johannesburg.

ROB THE RINGER’S PLAYS

I believe that this match will be high scoring as conditions will be good and while South Africa will have a point to prove Argentina have nothing to lose and will run it from everywhere.

Totals – Over 56.5 at 1.85

I am expecting a big win from the Boks this weekend and will back them on the alternate handicap.

Handicap – South Africa -23.5 at 2.19
