WSB Logo Orange 80x80Formula 1 heads to Silverstone this weekend for the highly anticipated British Grand Prix. We’ll be taking a look at the race from a betting perspective and offering a few suggested wagers to make the race even more exiting.

PREVIOUS RACE – Austrian GP

Lando Norris delivered a flawless performance last weekend, converting pole position into a race win as he held off a strong challenge from his McLaren teammate. Oscar Piastri crossed the line in second, while Charles Leclerc secured third place for Ferrari. Meanwhile, Max Verstappen’s race ended on the opening lap after an incident forced him to retire early.

CHAMPIONSHIP UPDATE

Oscar Piastri                    216 points

Lando Norris                     201 points

Max Verstappen              155 points

George Russell                146 points

Norris managed to close the gap to his teammate and has kept the race between them alive. The bookies still have Piastri as favourite to win the Championship, trading at 1.62, while Norris is trading at 2.50 for the win.

VERDICT

In what was a crucial weekend for Lando Norris, he stepped up when it mattered most. With the pressure on to prevent teammate Oscar Piastri from extending his lead in the Drivers' Championship, Norris delivered a flawless performance. Now heading into his home Grand Prix at Silverstone, he carries strong momentum and confidence, especially given his solid result at this circuit last year. I expect him to close the gap on Piastri even further this weekend.
